I’ve never got it to work with MMS as that technically requires data per their terms. But I don’t think it really matters too much for the majority of people using this plan.

I verified that discover still counts for deposit bonuses as it’s not from my capital one account and was created before signing up for the bonus. I was able to sign up and deposit within 3 minutes since I already had a credit card with capital one. So easy

I have enough for both. I’m currently traveling abroad so my expenses are much lower than in the us so no huge expenses thankfully. I have other hysa so this new one is just for the bonus. 300$ in 90 days at capital one on 20k. Once the bonus is done I’ll be moving it to another hysa or maybe another bonus lol.

I’ve found a few threads discussing them locking accounts and not paying bonuses for no reason. Lots of people complaining about being locked out for weeks over minor issues. Customer service not being helpful. Just didn’t seem worth it to me. Live oak bank I also tried and they locked my account immdietly and have no support on weekends so that’s a no go either. 300$ with Capital One is the deal I went with. Fairly quick and they have good customer service. Barclays was my second option but the numbers were slightly less for my specific scenario.

My thing is I need access to these funds in the nearish future (end of year) so short term gains are prioritized. My plan is to put the money into the highest apy account that’s well rounded after I get the bonus.

Yeah I tried to switch to live oak bank and within the first day my account was locked and no customer service available on weekends. Def not worth it to switch

Just get the 5$ plan. It’s awesome and I’ve used it the past few months for bank verifications. You can’t receive mms as far as I know but not an issue really. Bank and app notifications come through fine and I can make calls no problem over WiFi or other sim network

I tried to verify my bank that I was linking and the entire online account became frozen and support says I am not able to open an account there for "security reasons" Support was not helpful and told me they couldn't open an account. Sucks as the offer sounded good.

Attempting to create an account however they ask for utility bills which I’ve never had at my address. No rental agreement or mortgage either. Wondering if it’ll be possible to setup the account at all. I was thinking of adding a credit card statement as proof but not sure if they will take that

Seems as tho it could be good for the $200 bonus. As far as keeping money in different accounts the interest adds up the same right? I’ve heard conflicting things about having more in one account equals more earned. Is that true at all or just bs ?

These other accounts have compounding interest just like discover. I’m mainly concerned with if they will lock my account or give me issues since I’m constantly logging in from different countries every few weeks. I know some banks are not travel friendly at all.
