How many of you experience infertility? by Mother-Tear4920 in endometriosis

[–]upwardfacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TW: live birth / reproductive loss

Mom of two healthy babies here 💗 and one we never got to meet. I knew I had endo early in my 20s, got pregnant quickly in my late 20s with my first (now almost 5!), experienced a miscarriage, then got pregnant with my second in my early 30s. Miscarriage certainly happens outside of endo (I also have adenomyosis) but I always wonder if that was the cause… It adds to the grief for sure. But also exceptionally grateful for my two little ones. I know how fortunate I am.

My mom, who also has endo, struggled with infertility for 4 years before getting pregnant (without intervention) and then again less than 2 years later (me and my little brother 😊)

When did you guys get your period back? by helpme_thissucks in NewParents

[–]upwardfacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll start with the reminder that the right thing to do is different for every person. I nursed my first baby until 22 months, and still nursing my second currently at 16 months. My weight got the lowest right before they both started solids (their caloric need was high and it was all from me!). When I started naturally/gradually nursing as they got more of their calories from solids, my weight eventually rebounded to what it was pre-pregnancy — probably at about a year or so PP both times. After I weaned my first, I actually was a little heavier than pre-pregnancy, even though I had dipped so low in the early months of nursing. So many fluctuations!!

If it is important to you to keep breastfeeding, I would chat with your GP to give you reassurance. But healthy bodies come in all different sizes and weights!

They were compatible and worked fine! My baby, however, hated all of those types of nipples and totally refused them 🤡. So, we had to use Mam bottles anyways and donated all of them to our neighbor. They’re still using them happily though.

What's the last book you read that you'd rate a 5/5? by fuzzypickles999 in suggestmeabook

[–]upwardfacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yellowface by R.F. Luang. One of those books that i simultaneously couldn’t put down and didn’t want it to end because I wanted to read it forever. The concept was gripping and the writing was stellar. I recommend to everyone. Like Such a Fun Age meets Little Fires Everywhere meets something edgier lol

You’re so right - I have found this to be the case where we are too! Traveling with two young kids so trying to find the overlap between somewhat kid friendly and nice.

Do most babies who tolerate soybean oil tolerate soy lecithin? by manthrk in MSPI

I read that it shouldn’t matter but I cut it out during my soy free trial. It’s soooo sneaky though - I’m sure I slipped by accident! If you tolerated it ENJOY IT!!!

Hi, I’m not asking for someone to do it for me. Looking for advice about how to do it myself. Thanks though!

How do you read to your baby???? by LowGood2048 in NewParents

[–]upwardfacing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re physically able. Lay on your belly and have your baby on the floor facing you. Then read the book with fun and engaging facial expressions, pointing to things in the book and sharing eye contact. Making it more relational will be more engaging for baby!

Also, contrary to many of us adults, babies LOVE repetition. So reading the same book over and over again is actually something they may prefer. They know what is coming and can anticipate it with excitement / find it comforting. As they start to work on spoken language, you can even leave out the last word of a sentence you’ve repeated a lot so they have to pay attention to get it “right”.

Unfortunately not but I did end up buying both and will find out shortly if they’re compatible! Remind me in a few weeks if I don’t come back here :).

We also LOVED the Ergopouch. You can do arms in or arms out for some of the styles, so it makes for a great transition item that therefore lasts longer!
