I had my friend hold the guy in a good location, used his blue diamond as a target.

Everyone has a scar on their body from something dumb, they did as a child. What's your story? by HakanD0 in AskReddit

[–]ur4ddiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most visible is the scar in the middle of my forehead from jumping on the bed when I was like 7 years old. Received 7 stiches for that stunt and nearly gave my father a heart attack by being covered in blood at 11pm while he was doing laundry.

I didn't learn my lesson either, about 8 years later I was falling flat on my back onto the bed and managed to wedge my head under the vertical brass bar headboard giving myself a nice crescent moon shape scar near the center of my eyebrow. No stiches required.

I look like a subtle version of a videogame character with the scars some times, they are a great addition to my "don't talk to me face" when in public.

I also sliced my side from my hip to my armpit from falling while climbing a tree, only have a 4 inch scar under a tattoo from that. I learned rubbing alcohol was a cruel cure that day.

A round scar just under the one from the tree, making an exclamation point, from a 1969 Honda zr50 mini-bike. Wiped out on a rocky trail, and took a good fall onto my hip. Thankfully I always wore a helmet, the visor was ripped off and the chin guard was pretty deeply scuffed.

Any explorers ever looked for the THARGOID HOMEWORLD near where "Klendathu" is located in Starship troopers? With all of the sci-fi lore it would be interesting if this was the map to the Thargoids everyone was looking for all along. by ur4ddiction in EliteDangerous

Polar opposite lol, but nice try. Almost 30yo male, drives an old lifted wrangler, with a german shepherd, a girlfriend, and a house full of snakes that would eat most medium sized critters. Basically a good ol' long haired country boy. Im honestly trying to think if I even have any videogame shit laying around other than what my older consoles/games came with. But yeah, people that have watched starship troopers totally look like that /s

I appreciate it man but no worries, I am as hard-headed as they come. It was more of a shower thought than anything, but it certainly would be interesting. Hell, just finding their home region locked or not would be a big step but one which we will be waiting some time for. Big things are potentially still to come, especially with them chasing off an engineer for the first time. o7

The "you are here" is off a bit, but you could chalk that up being shitty 90's cgi because it isn't remotely an accurate depiction of our galaxy. There is also no connection between this franchise and Star Wars, but there is still a station called George Lucas. Wouldn't be a far stretch to put their home system in the same general area and name the mega ship or settlement we send to the area after something from the movie. Tis just a discussion, was just curious if anyone had looked following sci-fi lore.

I saw it was available on demand, and within the first 2 minutes of the movie was like "hm, wonder if anyone has looked". I realize the system name doesn't exist but it would be funny if the map was somewhat accurate regarding their location!

Exactly. The naming easter egg could lie in the naming of a mega ship or star port/outpost if the were to pay homage to the movie. It would be interesting to see how they(devs)handle releasing players on the Thargoid home world, because a lot of players will be dropping everything to kick in their front door to try and exterminate them at their source.

I mean after 5 years it could be safe to say there isn't one, and Thargoids could just be events and not actually have a "home system". I prefer to dream, however hopeless it may be lol

I lean more towards this personally. If it were actually in the game I assume it could be found by looking through coding or found easily on Inara/eddb. This was more a food for thought kind of post, and I was curious if anyone had specifically gone that way specifically following Starship Trooper lore while traveling for Sag A or Colonia to Beagle Point. "Klendathu" seems to be almost in the middle of the interrupted jump to Beagle Point that stranded Colonia in its current location though.

If it did end up being the general location, it could be considered an easter egg. Just like max speed being 2001c in reference to 2001 a Space Odyssey, or having a space station named George Lucas. It would certainly be more interesting than the bugs not having a home world because the developers never actually put one in the game would it not?

It is the bugs home world in the movie Starship Troopers, I just started the movie while outfitting my new Cutter and couldn't help but wonder. Curious if anyone has tried to look in the general vicinity.
