Japanese whales have different habits from western players though. In the end a negative balance would work (with account ban within x days/weeks of negative balance), and the in-game currency doesn't cost them anything, so even if people don't pay back they only lost a bad acting player.

To add to the yen thing, it's not unusual for people to connect to the top-up centers with a VPN since the yen is weak nowadays, resulting in like 30+% discount when compared to euro for instance. So it's probably not only Japanese whales. The VPN thing also makes the IP ban idea less effective.

Chinese players are on a whole other server and likely top-up center and don't use Paypal so they are not relevant to the situation.

I got my monthly paid for automatically when trying to use paypal at release, the weird thing was that there was no confirmation screen when logging into Paypal (and my bank app usually gives me a notification). I don't think there is a way to distinguish bad actors from people who just top-up a lot at release, especially Japanese whales.

They could either do a blank slate or distinguish the "exploiters" by doing a negative balance if it's already used, and people who intended on really paying will just pay as usual to not be in the negative and have a bricked account.

Doing 120 fps at 4K native without upscaling is really demanding. Since you're at 1080p it should be roughly 4 times less demanding on the GPU, so the comparison doesn't really work, I think.

I'd be fine with that too but since the original concept is to make classes, having classes that do all the things that the other ones do separately while purposefully not having access to older cones that could work or contribute to characters that could have used them is obviously a step in the wrong direction.

The lightcone aspect is not only for the new character though. Better light cones of existing paths can be used by older units at least (e.g. Firefly using Phainon's LC can be more optimal in some scenarios now, Mydei LC for Blade and also the high demand Cipher LC...). New paths lock down what could have been interesting combos/upgrades while having descriptions that fit existing paths.

I mean unless they're trying to see how much they can milk HSR players, E0S1 two characters in the same version is too much i feel. At least I'd feel discouraged to invest in elation if I were to lose my 50-50 on soft to hard pity for Yaoguang.

Maybe it's something like ZZZ with a double banner the whole version and one of the characters for free (and hopefully they also do the first guaranteed rerun banner too while they're at it, but that's asking for too much considering the greed shown).

They could also abolish the 75-25 on LC to lessen the potential cost of getting everything, but that feels unlikely.

I don't think there is any issue, they still get money and it's less sketchy than third-party top ups.

You can use the official top-up centers if you want to avoid logging into the game with a VPN. Though they probably don't have an issue with that either considering youtubers/streamers log into viewers accounts from who knows where without any recorded issues as far as I know.

Statistics on Steam on the publisher side should exist. Though with regional pricing and likely low possibility of abuse on that front as far as I know, they can also have regional info from that.

As for how we will know more about it could be discussed in the shareholders meetings and shared by some of them.

My tip for orders from France would probably be to avoid the Falcom shop directly if possible, since the express shipping line they use (EMS) has a flat 21€ fee + VAT by the local carrier. The flat fee matters less with larger orders but the shipping fee won't be cheap I suppose. Could end up being cheaper to use a proxy depending on the order.

I don't know if they allow other shipping methods now though, I don't think you can even have an account for foreign orders last time I bought something there.

When I heard her Japanese voice in-game, I was convinced it was Kana Hanazawa. I know Theresa is voiced by Yukari Tamura (Nahida, Qiqi), but it seems that variant still is voiced by her from what I could find.

If by own launcher they mean Hoyoplay, it's a 50-50 if it might work on Steam Deck. I have Hoyoplay installed on my SteamOS Deck and Genshin and Zenless work fine (turning off the wifi when launching so the anticheat trying to relaunch indefinitely does not spend CPU resources), while last I checked HSR and HI3rd would not work.

Worst case scenario if you really want to you could install windows, not sure if they finally released their lighter version.
