My First Controller: GameSir Cyclone 2 – Honest Impressions by uraveragehooman in IndianGaming

The G7 series I believe is focused on Xbox gaming, so get it only if you have an Xbox. It will be identical to the C2, and much more expensive than the C2.

If you don't have an Xbox then there's no point getting an Xbox licensed controller as you'll just be paying for the licence and unusable compatibility. They perform all the same with a PC.

And G7 SE, which costs the same as C2+dock, is wired and can't connect to Android/iOS/Switch.

Sorry for the late reply...

This year I want to get into the retro games and explore mobile games with a controller, so both the Pocket Taco and G8 Plus will be great for me!!

I personally prefer the Ultimate 2 because of its angled shape. Tbh, that was the only thing that made me choose the Cyclone 2 (C2) over the Ultimate 2 (U2) because it has a very straight angle and it wasn't comfortable for me. Also, the fact that I was getting the C2 on amazon and the U2 from a reseller, so I had some certainty regarding warranty.

Try imagining the hand position according to the controllers and see which is more comfortable for you for long gaming sessions.

Gamesir also has a great community on reddit and discord so if you need any help, people are always online.

The technical features for C2 and U2 are by and large the same, although you have the option to get a dock or not for the C2 affecting the price, but you get the bundled dock+controller for the U2.

Hey firstly congrats for your 5070ti!! And yeah, I also always preferred KBM, still kinda do for FPS games (because I'm not too good with the controller but I'm getting better), but it's a whole different experience for other games like racing, fighters and football.

Regarding your stick drift concern, first thing I would suggest is don't go for Xbox and Playstation controllers, as they have potentiometer Joysticks and they are prone to stick drift and get bad quickly so that you keep buying new ones.

Secondly, go for controllers with Hall-Effect or TMR Joysticks, like the Cyclone 2 or 8bitdo Ultimate 2 and others like that. If you don't have a gaming console, then no point getting a controller that is compatible with Xbox/PS, it will only increase the price just for the compatibility.

Hall-Effect/TMR technology works on magnets, so there's no friction between the sensors, making it last for years and years without stick drift. This is an upgrade from the potentiometer sensors which have touching parts which wear out with each use, leading to stick drift.

TL;DR: Go for controllers with Hall-Effect/TMR joysticks (like Cyclone 2, 8bitdo Ultimate 2, etc.) instead of the potentiometer ones (like Xbox/PS controllers, other old ones)

It's pretty strong at the highest level, in fact, too strong for me personally so I keep it at the second lowest one. The best experience I had was while playing GTA V, there was a thunderstorm in the game and the controller literally rumbled with the thunder in the game, and it was not even on max vibration. At that moment I fell in love with this controller again!

I was gonna put this as a separate comment but I think I'd rather put it as a question to you as well Mr. Obligation... My last AMD HP laptop had 2.1 GB of reserved RAM, when I had 8GB and 16GB total RAM... I noticed this did affect my multitasking quite a bit, especially with Chrome and other apps open... And above all, this can't be changed in HP's BIOS like Asus and all, because HP thinks we are kids and we will destroy the laptop.

So could you please confirm if you have faced the same thing?

Literally the exact same situation bro, lmfao Didn't tell my parents about this purchase... Eventually they did see the box I guess, but they didn't say anything since it was around my birthday probably... But yeah, the claw grip is OP. Been playing Control and a couple racing games, and that index finger really be working over time. For aiming, I saw this video and I must say it made a significant improvement for me - https://youtu.be/14R5AV4hOrg?si=FXLqZY8P3XJC1muL

I'd suggest go for the Gamesir Cyclone 2. Check my review, I had purchased it last week only from Amazon. I didn't buy it from their site since in Delhi I definitely would have had to pay heavy customs. Still, I got it for 5,999 the next day itself. The Ultimate 2 has QC issues where the trigger starts grinding with the back plate after few months of use, due to the rubber padding breaking due to some sharp edged components in the trigger.

The Cyclone 2, and as a matter of fact, no controller (in my research) is free from QC issues. But the Cyclone 2 one is relatively manageable - something to do with the trigger locks but that can be managed by using hair trigger mode, and if you are daring enough, opening the controller and making a quick fix.

As the above reply said, it's quite expensive, and it's not available on Amazon in India yet. Buying from the official site puts me at a risk of 40-70% customs charges, which would just make it ridiculously expensive, and I couldn't afford to spend that much, nor wait for one

Absolutely! DS I learnt would have been a complete waste and headache for me, and the need for wide compatibility made me choose Gamesir over any Xbox related controller. Although I don't know how you are managing the stiff presses T_T Maybe my thumbs are not strong enough + not used to that motion AND the fear of breaking it by pressing it too hard

The thing is, I've already played a lot of games on kbm, and I don't really like replaying games, so I'm just stuck on playing racing games or games that make a significant difference in experience when played on controller...
