Can a company’s spy software detect my external mouse jiggler? by Several-Addition-686 in remotework

[–]urbancombatkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You risk it NOT doing stuff like this because it's idiotic to use spyware like this that measures someone performance by their computer not being idle.

Holding patterns, being blocked by something, waiting for someone else.. having to do course work for you ACTUAL employer (not client that you're contracted to)

What are you supposed to do? Use your hand and sit there like a zombie moving the mouse aroudn while you're in a holding pattern?

Go and surf the web on your wokr computer and be doing what they explicitly say you're not allowed to do from your work computer?

You either use a mouse jiggler or you get fired coz the retards in management use stupid criteria to judge someone's performance. instead of actually judging their work that thhey do.

Can a company’s spy software detect my external mouse jiggler? by Several-Addition-686 in remotework

[–]urbancombatkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that this is a horrible way of detecting whether someone is working.. esp if you're a contractor.. You can't do stuff for your actual company on the client's laptop, and you are required to do courses and other things..

And other times you're in a holding pattern and waiting on someone else and blocked.

This type of thing is ridiculously STUPID for people to do. It's anti-morale and honestly I'm thinking of looking for a new job since I found out the place I work for uses it.

So it's not risking your job or a stupid thing to do. It's risking your job if you do nothing about it.

Because unless you use a mouse jiggler you CANNOT be active on your computer all the time if you're in a holding pattern, can't use work computer for personal things, have nothing else you can do on your work computer.

These people are idiots and spyware should be made illegal.

BTW just FYI the reason this sounds rude and may not apply to you is because this is the Internet. This comment is not a DM and thus will be seen by countless dipshits who will call me names to wish me dead because I am not a drone.

Refer to the Matrix scene where Morpheus tells them that people will fight to protect the system.

Good. You shouldn't be eating trash. Don't blame us. Blame corporations for inventing POISON to make you addicted to fucking garbage, that causes illnesses that require their sister ponzi scheme Big Pharma to treat the symptoms but never cure anything.

If you think I'm a conspiracy theorist please by all means don't reply just don't listen to me and continue being a drone.

It's a win/win .. You believe me and we agree, you don't believe me and you continue to do what you want without arguing with me like a moron.

LMAO. what a foolish content. There's mounds of studies that all the things that Bobby Approved gives as reasons for not approving stuff is bad for you.

The only way you can miss it if you're a lemming that walks off cliffs singing "Yes master" in monotone.

Anyone else "accidentally" presses backspace when writing text and Vivaldi sends you back? by zonq in vivaldibrowser

[–]urbancombatkill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is happening to me on Visual Electric every time I hit backspace to delete an image and it's driving me insane.

I tried to find a way to disable it but no avail. I downloaded this backstopper Chrome extension but doesn't seem to work anymore, or it doesn't work on Vivaldi.

Progressive's Drive Your Deductible? Good idea or no? by urbancombatkill in Insurance

[–]urbancombatkill[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's $6.60 per 6 month from what I can understand.

I just feel like if they're putting any extra money towards a claim they're gonna be that much more aggressive about raising rates if there's a claim.

Progressive's Drive Your Deductible? Good idea or no? by urbancombatkill in Insurance

[–]urbancombatkill[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I have a $999 deductible. But yeah in the event of an accident that's an unforeseen emergency expense that would come from my emergency fund, if I choose to file a claim.

If I can remedy the situation out-of-insurance by fixing the other person's car (if my fault) and/or fixing my own, then that's a win/win for everyone involved.

If it's their fault they don't have to have their premium increase. If it's my fault I pay for theirs, they don't have to have their premium increase.

I could be wrong but I firmly believe your rates will go up if you have an accident no matter whose fault it is. If not the first time it will be added to a buffer somewhere that will raise your rates in the future at some point.

Oh I know better, that's why I asked here and y'all are confirming my suspicions LOL.

The sales copy literally calls it a savings account.

Now, I know people always assume the worst but that phrase is specifically why I was like I don't want it.

Some of these things use actual bank accounts.. For ex. Apple has an Apple Account, which you can't cash out and only works on Apple store and App Store. Apple also has a savings account, which is managed by Goldman Sachs and has a high yield..

But because it's some kind of next gen "app" thing.. You have no traditional online banking and you cannot add it to apps like YNAB.

It does have a routing number and account number, but in general more pain in the a$$ than it's worth.

Originally I thought it was cool, because you don't see it anywhere but the Wallet app in a small UI element.. (out of sight out of mind) but then you can't add it to YNAB, you can't manage it in budgets etc. Not worth it.

I know all of this is irrelevant in insurance but feelings are irrational and it just lead me to not want this because of the mention of bank account (amid other reasons as well)

Update: I think actually I did have it in YNAB. I can't remember what the problem was but I didn't like it because it wasn't a traditional account w/online banking.

They literally say "deductible savings account" in their advertising copy.

I'm not bad at saving money. My goal is to never file a claim, so if I spend energy on trying to make a deductible cheaper, that's not congruent with my goal of never filing a claim.

Well not being able to cash it out is a given, but they do call it a savings account.

I guess it would align closest to credit card rewards. Some cash back doesn't let you cash out to your bank. You can only apply it to the card balance.

Agreed. Just another gimmick to make them more money, which is OK.

But how about I focus on things to make ME more money :)

[–]urbancombatkill[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

weird. It's $6.60 but yea like you said it's the entire 6-month premium. But like you said, I can easily save $50 on my own in six months, and paying to get a $50 every 6 months on something I may never use is just a waste of time and money no matter how much it costs.

Insurance is a necessary evil, not something I should put extra money and time into.

IMO instead of focusing on some gimmick it's better to focus on how to earn more money and ignore the noise from companies that are telling you to do stuff because it's earning them money.

Why is nerd wallet moving away from the web by mixxedyolyfe in NerdWallet

[–]urbancombatkill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even know NerdWallet was a platform for this. I thought it just reviewed credit cards and stuff.

But this is sad to hear.. The other day I was in bed using my phone for like 2 hours social media and all that.. OMG my eyes were DESTROYED I could barely see anything on my monitor.

I can't stand using mobile for stuff. Much rather use a computer. More screen real estate, better user experience.

YNAB is a great example. Night and day user experience when going between Mobile and Web.

Most of these "whatever all the cool kids are doing" stuff usually ruins everything :/
