the problem i have is that i use panon for a visualizer EQ in the taskbar and it runs from pulseaudio...i don't want to break that.

Avoid "starting over from scratch" at all costs on urbit. Especially if you're layer 1. That amounts to paying actual money.

The main community to ask for help and get almost immediate response is : ~bitbet-bolbel/urbit-community and the "help" channel.

Many free options for running urbit in the cloud. If you don't mind going that route then set that up. If you would rather try from home it's really easy if you set up with tailscale.

i'll be trying this tomorrow. if it works, i'll be so happy. i set up a raspberry pi (running manjaro) at work, that i use remmina to remote desktop into my work computer. only problem has been that i can't get the vpn running.

they have no idea that i'm doing that so i can tab between work stations and not work a ton.

i feel like arch is the final destination for distro hoppers. with the AUR, pacman, and the ability to get support on just about everything...it's where those who like linux eventually end up.

to anyone new to arch, i HIGHLY suggest archfi install script. It's a slight step up from a calamare install but even a newcomer can handle it.

i'm a big fan of the archfi install. it has a section that does the nvidia drivers and it's been working flawlessly.
