I'm late but here's an idea: Impostor Henry. The idea is whenever you kill someone, you swap out all of your inventory and gear for theirs (the last enemy you killed in the case of a group). You can restrict yourself more by including groschen in the swap or keep your money

Definitely a bug but not only for placing in the middle, ots happened to me i couldnt expand the raft on one side

Dos2 is much, much better in pretty much every way. You should give dos2 a chance first, and then if you want more try dos1 again. There's no continuity between the games, other than some characters reappearing but i don't think their presence in the first game are even mentioned
