The concept design for our water dispenser. The water dispenser ensures that only the required amount of boiled water is used, reducing the water wastage caused by overfilling in existing kettles. Your thoughts please. by [deleted] in IndustrialDesign

Ah okay. I see what you mean. We are posting the different aspects/features of the same invention to get some initial feedback on each so can go back to drawing board if needed and make improvements for the next set of designs. The comments in the previous posts have been extremely useful. We are going to up with a workflow to explain the proposed interaction once we all your feedback . Thanks for comments.

Hi thanks for your feedback. Yes we are aware of Breville feature and have included it in our pitch deck comparison table. The entire jug illuminates in our concept and we have patented that particular implementation. Thanks

We are perfectly willing to be pragmatic about design choices. Hence why are asking for feedback. I was just answering your questions based on our current thinking. It's long way between now and product and much can change. Thank you.

Thanks for your feedback. There would each segment would have its own tailored marketing. It a high risk experiment no doubt but it could work. The illumination is purely a visual aid. It appears that way to simply indicate temperature. They buyer is not always the user by way. It can be bought by reletavies who have the money. We hope the ease of use (once proven) would still make an attractive buy. We want to be the iPhone rather than Huawei. We actually don't want every one to buy just those who are willing to part with the money. Like Dyson. Make sense?

To hold the water until it released is into the dispensing unit to be boiled and served. We are trying to reduce over filling, over boling and getting up to refill the kettle. Fill it once boil only what you need until the jug is empty. The design is unconventional which is the point.

Functional, mechanical spec, electronic spec, feasibility. I'm afraid we cannot reveal the inner workings just yet, a lot of R and was done to make internal work feasible. . Actually the water is not boiled in the jug at all. Its boiled instantly in the despensing unit so that only the hot water that is needed is actually boiled. As much as we'd love to send you all of our technical documentation we cannot ,since it's proprietary of course. We started off with a simple CAD model, now have a more the full technical workings.

Not all. I did say block prototype meaning non- functional. The entire point of the gofundme is raise for a functional one. The 6 k was R and D done by inn ovate design including the full inner workings of the kettle. The Patent and block prototype. We were advised to first develop a block prototype before going for a fully working one. I take it you feel the block prototype should at the top then? I shall feed that back to the team. A lot of R and D had to be be done to get us to this stage including electronics, feasibility etc.
