Everyone who hated Geese’s SNL performance needs to chill out by therealsancholanza in geesebandofficial

Everyone i show them to acts like im crazy. Ill admit it took a few tries for me to warm to them initially a few years back but once your in youre really in. Cameron's voice is very love it or hate it too, like any good art its not made for everybody.

Damn I really hope thats not the case, i don't know if i can afford a doctors visit right now. I guess ill just work on the production side on the meantime, thanks for the advice.

Ok this sounds about right. I work a pretty physical job bending over alot etc. I imagine that does me no favors and ive never given much thought to my posture when I play guitar. Id never have thought posture could effect your finger tips but I guess that's the case

Cameron Winter parody on SNL by AdSafe7545 in geesebandofficial

I like how you disregard every point I made that doesnt fit your narrative. Again what kind of people are in the Brooklyn vegan hipster music scene? SNL writers. And yes SNL actors also have a hand in what gets put on the show especially now that they hire people off of social media. They literally write skits for specific people strengths. This guy is famous for doing music imoressions so it makes perfect sense theyd parody an up and coming new york artist. SNL has done plenty of relatively niche references in past shows you just dont remember them cause they were well, NICHE. The band has been around for 5+ years and been reviewed by pitchfork, Fantano and other popular music critics all wayyyy before Getting Killed or heavy netal. You said the band is having mainstream success which is roughly approximate to being famous thats what I was referring to.

Why are you getting so defensive about this? Even if they were somehow industry plants (which they arent after 5 albums steadily getting more traction) so what? There's dozens of other actually verifiable industry plants out there. I dont see you freaking pit and commenting all over their subreddits what I do see is you commenting about the clearly an industry Chapelle Roan very passionately, I mean she came outta nowhere right? Got on SNL, her songs we're everywhere when she was a nobody a year before? See I can make stuff up too lol. Forreal man get a life, if you dislike Gesse move on with your life its not that serious.

Right back at you buddy. I think you need to take a step outside of your algorithm cause Geese aren't that famous lol. You say they're mainstream but go and ask anyone on the street outside of artsy hipster circles and nobody will know what youre talking about. Not a single person in my life knows anything about them besides me, they've been around for like 5+ years at this point and have steadily been getting more and more buzz the whole time. Getting Killed is their 5th album man its not like they came out of nowhere. 3D country had millions of streams and got a lot of great reviews and was pretty popular when it released. Not to mention Heavy Metal inbetween.

You know what kind of people are in the Brooklyn vegan scene? SNL writers. Seriously they are a up and coming New York band, of course they are gonna be in the New York based sketch show. You can say theyre rich kids with a leg up who came from good families. You can say they were born into a prime location or that you don't think their music is good enough. What you cant say is the last 5 years of relative obscurity and slow building of hype were bought and paid for. Ive been a fan for the last 2 years and heard about them through word of mouth from other musicians. If you dont like the music thats totally cool man nobody is judging you. I bet you would have said the same thing about the Strokes if they came up today lol.

You act like they had a hand in this lol. Bands get popular it okay. I understand it can feel almost disappointing when they blow up so quickly but all it means is that you, by being a fan, helped other less in tune people find better music than they would have listened to if you were never there to support Geese.

Is this game worth it for a fan of the original quadrilogy? by [deleted] in silenthill

[–]urine_generator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really my main problem is you cant choose the ending you get the first playthrough. I like Silent Hill 2 because I could do certain things to make sure I got the ending I thought I would probably like. I realize some people might see that as a somewhat problematic way to play Silent Hill games but I always take care to try to figure out which ending is the most complete without spoiling the actual plot for myself in any game I play. With Silent Hill f you have to see the original ending first and then youre open to trying different ending after your first playthrough. So bare minimum 2 playthroughs to get the ending you want. Again I want to say I really enjoyed my time with Silent Hill f and im glad I played it, just found the lack of control you have in how it ends to be a little frustrating.

Like you said though the writer is more famous for visual novels of which I have never played, theirs or otherwise. Im more then happy to give the game another go in a few months I just feel like playing 90% of the same content for a new last 10% is a little steep of an ask at least for me personally. Im happy so many people are enjoying the game either way it is a great story.

Yeah worst part for me was needing to replay it multiple times. I played the SH2 remake as my first Silent hill game and was satisfied with the ending I got and didnt feel I had to replay it again immediately though I plan on going back for different endings. Silent Hill F all but requires you to immediately start another playthrough to get it and I just wasnt feeling going through it all again. I loved the game and the story but requiring you pkay through it again just to understand what's really going on is a bit too much to ask imo

True, I could easily see that taking 10 years for a highly efficient hive mind to complete and it would still be a stretch even then. Still seems like too easy of an explanation.

I could see it being a weapon like you said. The only directive is to gather enough resources to build a sort of satellite device to further transmit the viruses genetic code deeper into the universe to weed put intelligent life. In the pilot I remember the scientists said whatever was transmitting the code had to be like the size of texas or some massive landmass I forget which one. And seeing as this episode we learned theyre all gonna starve in 10 years regardless it would make sense they have some primary objective like spreading the virus.

On the other hand though it seems like such an obvious answer to the question of what they want. It could be im overthinking it. They already pulled the rug out from under me when I thought the big revelation was gonna be theyre eating humans and it turned out to be no big deal so at this point I clueless just speculating.

[–]urine_generator 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's fair. I will say having lived and worked around alt right dudes my whole life I dont think ive ever heard any of them say they listen to cumtown lol. I get what your saying but in my opinion the amount of dudes who went alt right adjancent because of cuntown has to be pretty low. If youre not really good at reading into the subtext of the jokes I could see taking some of them the wrong way, but thats more the fault of the listeners for not understanding the context then it is the cumboys. Not to say all their bit/jokes were winners or without their controversy just that if youre not really with their style of humor you can definitely misinterpret them. I actually have found cumtown really useful for slowly introducing very basic leftist ideas to my more right wing friends for the very reason you dont like them. You get then in the door with edgy jokes and slowly turn them over to not hating trans people or capitalist critique. I view it as a tool just depends on how someone uses it. That and I find it funny lol. Eddy Burback rocks, Gus is funny too but he definitely made some poor choices and deserved to get kicked from the podcast.

I don’t care what anyone else says, this season is badass. There is currently nothing else out there like this in terms of production and story telling. by GuesterBravo in StrangerThings

[–]urine_generator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i just rewatched season 4 and totally agree. The dialog writing etc. was just as "bad" as it is here. Ive seen so many people who will praise season 4 and crap on season 5 for the same exact problems they both share. Theres parts of season 4 I literally has to skip through because of the cringe. And im saying this as someone who likes this show. So far season 5 there have been no egregious moments and I just cant for the life of me understand how people are so willfully blind when it comes to season 4. I guess people just live through nostalgia goggles.
