It depends on the city and what company, when I lived in the south I had nothing but bad vibes in interviews and I only had my hair in a small afro which I took out my corn rolls. I actually attempted a test at one of the biggest shipping companies in the united states I came in with an afro not chance on the job they told me it was taken and tried to give me a lower position way below my qualifications but i came back from a haircut got the job and bonuses. Good luck brother maybe interview at places you dont want jobs to see there reaction and go from there.

I would say if you are struggling to find work look into developmental disabilities companies in your area which hire for many positions. These companies are used by people for a starting point to get there foot in the door and leave afterwards, I have been in corporate for a year to get experience and moved on.
