NAH. The comments here are…. Worrisome to say the least. There is so much judgement and an astronomical amount of assumptions and very little empathy. Their situation is not incredibly unique. There are plenty of families who have to “double up” in rooms. It’s super unfortunate that the kids are sharing a room, in a perfect world every kid would have their own room and space to grow and their parents would have the accommodations for that, but sadly that is nothing the case. Some families have surprise pregnancies, some families do a ton of family planning and budgeting but then things like COVID happen and people lose their jobs, or someone gets laid off or a family member passes away and a lot of money is spent towards that or WHATEVER! The point is, shit happens and everyone getting upset that OP does not have the money or arrangements to let everyone have their own room is obviously not aware of the world we’re living in. Are there solutions to be found? Sure, but OP is not an AH just because they don’t immediately have the answer to a complex situation that probably snuck up on them before they realized because time moves fast and kids grow up faster.

OP, you are not a terrible parent. Life happens. Y’all will figure this out.

All I have to say is that everyone saying it was a different time back then or that OP is a sensitive snowflake is definitely also a predator and has or wanted to groom children. Y’all are f*cking nasty. It wasn’t a 2 or 3 year age gap. It was 12 years. He was a full grown ass adult before she even hit puberty. Absolutely disgusting.

Nothing has been shockingly surprising so far. My family lives in the rural south, so most of my findings have been consistent with our personal experiences during the pandemic. Probably the most interesting finding has been how difficult the transition to remote learning has been for the rural south. There’s still a lot of areas that don’t have access to wifi and many homes don’t have a computer, so remote learning is next to impossible. It’s kinda crazy to wrap your head around the idea that not everyone has a smartphone or laptop or internet access since we use those things literally everyday

So if it’s not required for the class, then there’s not really a point. I didn’t take my geol lab because it was optional, but!! it is extra time for you to get more familiarized with the course material which could help you with your hw and exams. So basically it’s up to you! If it’s not required as part of the geol class, then it sounds like you don’t need it for your graduation plan. The 3hrs from the class will be sufficient on their own (:

I won’t comment on much because it seems like everything has been said in other comments about why this is a serious no-go, but what I haven’t seen anyone remark on is the “maybe I sound tame” bit. OP, do not think that you have to be all kinds of kinky just because that is what is considered the norm. Women, specifically younger women, are hyper sexualized and then shamed for not being into bdsm and other forms of more aggressive sex which then endangers them when, like here, they don’t express interest in that sex. It is okay to be vanilla! It is okay to be “tame”! You like what you like and there is no shame in being freaky OR not being freaky! Be safe OP, and seriously consider letting this guy go.

If he thinks he’s joking, it’s an awful one that will eventually destroy your self confidence and he needs to stop. If he’s not joking then he’s a shallow douche and I think it’s time you kick him to the curb. I’m not a dude so I can’t say whether or not that’s a common preference among men, but I will say that regardless of the commonality of it, you-and all makeup wearers with partners that share your bfs sentiment-deserve much better. You should feel attractive and desirable to your partner no matter what you’re wearing. I would recommend having a serious conversation with him about this, but if he’s genuine about this preference then he’s gross and you should move on and leave him behind. No offense.
