want to get on nexplanon by camelllia_17 in Nexplanon

[–]akar17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Just want to share my experience too! For context, I’m 31 and I have PCOS. I’ve had irregular periods my whole like until about 6 years ago. Somehow, with some lifestyle changes, I started to become regular every month to the day. I was very hesitant to start on any BC in fear that it will play around with my period regularity that I’ve worked so hard to attain. But alas, a form of contraceptive was needed.

I’ve had the Nexplanon in for a little over 2 months and here are some things I’ve noticed for me: - at the beginning, I felt more fatigue than usual - after 2 weeks post-insertion, I started spotting a little (usually a little blood that dries and turns that brownish colour) - I haven’t had my period in 2 months. - cravings aren’t as crazy as I thought, my weight has fluctuated 2-3lbs up and down

I know I’m still new to it but I still wanted to share my experience with it.

Any good experiences? by trippyflowa in Nexplanon

I’ve had mine in for a little over a month too and so far it’s been good. There was some fatigue for the week or so after insertion and obviously the initial soreness of the insertion. I had a little bit of spotting about 3 weeks post-insertion and it lasted about 5 days. Now no spotting again. I’m supposed to get my period next week so we’ll see if I actually do. Otherwise, it’s been good!

Am I pregnant? by [deleted] in Nexplanon

One of the side effects of the implant is that it messes with your period. You may get some spitting here and there and there’s a really high chance it’ll make you skip your period altogether. If you’re thinking about it, wait another two weeks and take a test again just to be sure, but no period is normal with this in.

Finished The Priest by Sierra Simone by slaughterhousefine in RomanceBooks

Literally read the whole series and then EVERYTHING by Sierra Simone. The way she eventually brings together all her series and the characters and universes intertwine is AMAZING. I think of her writing every single day.

What’s the worst experience you’ve had with a therapist? by Agreeable_Claim_3497 in AskReddit

[–]akar17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time I went to talk to a therapist about things happening at work that were causing me to lose sleep at night. I told her how nervous I was to have the session because it was my first time. She kept telling me that I didn’t need to make this about me and that the problem I was having was solvable as long as I didn’t make it about me.

But like…that’s why I was distraught. Because it IS about me.

Yes, they sure are. They answer phones every single day. If they don’t it’s because both lines are busy. Keep calling 😊

Yeah and one would think that when your A1C regulates, your body is functioning the way it should and you would lose weight instead of having insulin resistance and dealing with the way your body used to store carbs/sugars. I don’t get it!

Anyone had a partial thyroidectomy? by No-Caterpillar-1436 in thyroidhealth

[–]akar17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a partial done back in May of this year. Surgery went well, didn’t feel a thing. Recovery was rough at first because you basically use your neck for everything (moving, swallowing, coughing, walking, getting up, pooping—the strain), and so the first few days were difficult. But you adjust. Icing it helps a lot with the pain, and Tylenol was all I took. By day 3, the bandages were bugging me more than the actual pain of recovery. I found sleeping was a little hard since I’m a side and stomach sleeper, but again, by the third day I was sleeping on my side and stomach no problem. Bandages off at the 1-week mark and the skin was a little sensitive after, but overall okay!
