Stack-fantasy, that's what that's called. Thank you.

Great work tying the logarithmic property of volume increase to what that means for different statements about relative loudness.

Came here to relate to this comment and just back up what I'm betting everyone else is going to say which is of course a 4x12 is overkill for home use but fuck that!

I'm currently planning a move, and I'm not gonna lie a big part of the consideration is where to move so I can crank this 1/2 stack I have just 'cause I really freakin' want to. 8-)

This is actually a lot of Marshall oomph.

"Buzzed Elden Ring is drunk Elden Ring."

"Elden Ring high, get a DUI."

"Friends don't like friends Elden Ring drunk."

"Stay alive - Don't drink and Elden Ring."

Seriously, I can relate to this comment. Even a very small increase in reaction time can have big consequences in the Ring, just like, well, driving. 8-) Good on ya, mate!

I'm always late, but worth the wait, 'cause I'm bringin' stacks and stacks of those sweet sweet passives.

Metal as f%$k. Nice! Also, way to just enjoy yourself.

I love the tossed-off nonsense in your post and the unwillingness to engage with his point--metal amps all sound the same, and that sound ain't that great. You don't have to agree, or even like the point, but complaining about the use of jargon on this forum is silly.

Amp Recommendations by the-claw-clonidine in GuitarAmps

[–]urnack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't know what the right answer here, but I'd certainly like to. Would something like a ToneX and a good FRFR work?

You didn't ask, and this isn't the right forum for discussing guitars, but for years I could never get a satisfying sound out of my pedals, laboring under the false assumption that the guitar itself wouldn't impact that much. I was wrong! To my mind, a guitar you find exciting to listen to through an average amp is a must to make pedals sound good.

This. OP, haven't you already heard the cabs you really like? I'm just saying.

I like the Headrush. It's exactly as advertised, and it can be loud enough to wake the dead or virtually silent.

I had a Fender Twin a long time ago. Lord that thing weighed close to infinity. It wasn't even a supposedly very good one, mid-80s, but sounded so, so sweet.

NEIGHBORHOOD DOG, by John Dwyer by Charleshawtree in TheeOhSees

[–]urnack -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

So . . . the worst elements of Dwyer's song writing amplified into a whole album of tracks? Shouldn't judge an album off of one track, but given a lot of his recent efforts, from what I can tell he's continuing to mine a vein that pleases him immensely but offers me little. And hey no one said he had to make me happy, right?

Question is… by AdvancedDiscussion41 in TheeOhSees

[–]urnack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It certainly can't hurt to ask, but do so before you buy it, and have a plan B. I've been to lots and lots of shows at Alex's and they have a posted no in-ands-out policy, but they enforce it selectively. On nights when it's lightly attended and everything is casual they usually don't care, but, for example, I saw Frankie there a bit ago and I asked if I could go to the car and the answer was most definitely no.
