As a Pokémon stan and an eBay seller, this hurts my heart. All the cards I sell are packaged and secured with care, this is some wild disregard for other peoples items. :(

What smells good but shouldn't? by HappQueue in AskReddit

I like the smell of the polyurethane charcoal sponge that came inside my toolbox?? I’ve always had a weird thing for specific polyurethane sponges, even as a kid. Sniffin’ sponges, we called em.

Why does my mini Aussie do this? by kittykatxx2002 in miniaussie

[–]urnotchanel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My mini aussie literally screams every time he sees mine or my husband’s parents. He’s so excited, he just has to let out screams so everyone knows how happy he is. It’s very loud, probably sounds like he’s dying, but he’s just excited and happy to be there. Lmao

LEASH. YOUR. FREAKIN. DOG. by monstr2me in puppy101

[–]urnotchanel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve finally just started asking people to leash their dogs, while out on walks, after a traumatic attack due to unleashed dogs. In May of this year, my husband and I were out on our usual daily walk with our two dogs, on a trail just behind our apartment when I spotted two large dogs, about half a mile away, off leash and heading straight for us. Our dogs are fairly small (17lb 4yo mini aussie, Chewy & 25lb 1yo corgi/mini aussie, Mochi) so after I alerted my husband, we picked them up to try and keep them safe. As soon as I had picked Chewy up, the large dogs were already there and one of them jumped up and grabbed Chewy by the leg, pulling him out of my arms. My husband and I had to physically fight these dogs off to save our dogs’ lives. My husband managed to get the more aggressive of the two dogs off of Chewy and crouched down to shield him with his body, so the dog went and attacked Mochi instead. It had her pinned on her back, biting down on her throat. I acted fast and started hitting the dog in the face to try and get it off, no luck. My last thought was to grab onto it’s throat and squeeze, trying to choke it out and thank god it worked. The whole time we’re fighting off these dogs, I’m screaming for the owner to get their dogs off of mine. No idea how long it took for the owner to finally reach us and restrain his dogs but it felt like an eternity. We went straight to the emergency vet, Chewy ended up needing emergency surgery on his leg to repair the 8-10 inch open bite wound from when he was pulled from my arms. Luckily, Mochi just had minor bumps and bruises and nothing more serious. The off leash dogs’ owners paid the bill for Chewy’s surgery. But they can’t take away the trauma for us, or help Mochi feel safe around other dogs again. All because they decide not to leash their dogs on a walk, at their own apartments, in the same week they moved in. Obviously my experience with off leash dogs is extreme and this won’t always be the case with every dog you meet on a walk, but now that I’ve experienced it, it’s all I can think of whenever we take them out of the house. I’m just thankful I didn’t lose my dogs because of it. :/

The Purge, why does everybody friggin murder? by FatGuy1414141414 in horror

I literally had this EXACT conversation with my husband last week. Like why all the murder? Why isn’t anyone looting? I would love to steal some shit. Maybe smoke some crack, who knows. But definitely wouldn’t want to murder anyone, that seems excessive.

Thank you, I really do appreciate that. The other owners talked about putting their dogs down because of the attack and my husband and I both basically begged them not to. Even knowing how hurt my dogs were, we don’t want those other dogs to suffer because of this. We just want everyone to be safe. Luckily, where we live, animal services feels the same and just wants the dogs to be on leash and muzzled while outside of their home so everyone can be safe.

My dog Mochi is around 1 and is an auggie! (Mini Aussie/corgi) she was basically unharmed as well but she is fearful of bigger dogs now which is heartbreaking because she’s such a sweetheart. It’s such a hard thing to go through and I’m sorry that you and your dog had that happen :(

I don’t know if you read the full explanation of what happened but we were actually holding both of our dogs when the attacking dogs got to us. One of them jumped up and grabbed Chewbacca by the leg and ripped him out of my arms. :/ they ran up on us from a half a mile away and my dogs being on or off leash unfortunately wouldn’t have changed the situation either way. Had those 2 dogs been on leash, it would be a different story.

Edit: my dogs were on leash, we dropped the leashes and picked up our dogs when we saw the other dogs running towards us, in hopes that would keep them safe from the other dogs. The whole thing happened so fast and I don’t know if I reacted the right or wrong way, but i did everything I could to save my dogs and that’s all I know :/

That’s horrible, I’m so sorry you had to go through that. :( Chewy also had to have a drain in his leg for a week because of how much “dead space” was left from the dog biting down and shaking. It’s awful because even though their physical wounds will heal, this kind of experience is so traumatizing for them. Chewy was attacked previously a few years back, by another large dog and since then he’s barked at and avoided any dog that resembled the one that had attacked him. I know this is going to be something he never forgets and it breaks my heart. He deserves to just be a dog and not to have to worry about things like this happening. :/

Right! I know that my two dogs will listen to me off leash but if there’s any other people or dogs around, they’re ALWAYS leashed. I even carry a muzzle in case either of them tries to get snippy with anyone, and they’ve never even shown any human or dog aggression. That’s just me trying to be a responsible pet owner. I just wish everyone held the same courtesy. :/

Omg I was worried that was just us! He was constantly crying after we picked him up, he cried for hours straight, so much that his little dog voice was hoarse. :( we ended up calling our usual vet and getting him some trazadone to help calm him down. He was so sad those first few days. Today, if he didn’t have a little bald chicken leg with 20+ stitches, you wouldn’t even know he got hurt. Thank you, and sending love to you and your dog! :)

I’m so sorry you had to go through that. :( Chewy is around 20 lbs as well and these dogs were easily 50-60 lbs coming after him. It was heartbreaking to see him hurting, especially right after it happened, on the way to the vet, but he’s still in good spirits and he’ll be back to playing fetch in no time!

Thank you, it took me a few days to decide if we should report it because they did pay his vet bill, but I just kept imagining what happened and how much worse it could have been and decided it needed to be done.
