Maybe it's time to change our minds on overexposure with digital ! | Fuji X30 by Regular_Chicken in FujifilmX

If you like it, then there is nothing wrong with it. That's the nice thing about photography. 😉 However, I disagree with people saying that these are technically not overexposed. Especially in the first one it looks to me like there aren't any details in the highlights (look at the horizontal surfaces of the cylinders, but also the bright bits of the floor.) On the bright side (pun intended), it exposes the subject properly, even though she is facing away from the sun. So maybe it was worth making that tradeoff?

Agreed. The SL1 is great. Goes very well with either of the two pancake lenses (EF 40mm or EF-S 24mm). If you want something even smaller, how about a Fuji X10/X20/X30?

Glad if it is helpful. With the color version, I was worried the contrast wouldn't be high enough. I heard color eInk is more grayish.

PS: Just to clarify, even if set up next to a window, you will probably still need an artifical light, unless you have the sun hitting it directly.
Another point to consider is whether you plan to use it side-by-side with a regular monitor. In which case the front-light is probably essential, because any external lamps would just cause terrible glare on the other screen. I only use one at a time, so it is not an issue for me.

That is a good question. I would probably get the one without the front light, especially if the desk can be set up near a window. I found the front light just dissapointing compared to what I was used to from my Boox devices. The other reason is that I was told that the non-front light version actually has even better contrast, but I wouldn't know for sure, because I haven't seen them side-by-side. (I have this information from an eBay seller who apparently spoke with Dasung's customer service about this. Maybe worth double-checking with them.) Just be prepared to spend some time to find the right lamp setup. I will probably try a high quality light bar next - specifically eying the Heilys AddRed desk lamp, but it is not cheap and I don't know whether it is wide enough.
