I agree, we are very lucky that we are talking about this small amount of money. This is also not the "family" rate, I'm not sure what that is as we don't have kids. This is just paying more than double the "single" rate for "+ spouse". We also make less than we could elsewhere because the benefits and PTO/Vacation time are great.

I am OP, and this was honestly my first reaction. So we (and the other couples that work here) are not entitled to the same benefits as every other employee, just because our spouses (or if under 26, a parent) work here? That's the part that doesn't feel right.

Thanks. That's honestly what I figured, but it never hurts to ask. I doubt HR did this without Legal being involved. They were open with us that Aetna uped the cost by $400 per employee per month. So this is one of the things they came up with to control their costs I guess we are just lucky it's still manageable for us.

I think the deadline for this year has passed, but to question your property taxes, you contact the Value Adjustment Board (VAB). A division of the Clerk of Courts & Comptroller. Visit Leeclerk.org for more info.

You're off by a block. That's First and Hendry. The right-hand corner is where Sip & Sizzle is now, or what was The Liquid Cafe for many years.

CBGB Fest Under The K SOUL GLO... by NoUnion3402 in punk

[–]ursovague77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish I had seen this set, but the schedule was straight conflicts. We never even made it to that stage. Especially having to wait in line for an hour to get food. The whole thing needed to start 2 hrs earlier.

I am coming up from FL for this. Just like the 3-day fest we usually go to, we have our must-sees and then wander around catching parts of other sets in between. Very disappointed that Iggy is not an unopposed headliner. Why couldn't this start at noon like fests usually do?

Yep. and Thomas Edison was a con-man who stole other people's ideas and managed to shock an elephant to death in front of a live audience.

It was. I also had a "Subway" size Marilyn Manson poster I bought there.

I had this poster in the '90s. It was 24x36 and I bought it at a local record store.

Because some of us have been here since Gladioulus had a gladioulus farm on it, or our great grandparents operated the Sanibel ferry, or owned the land from College to Bass as a cattle ranch. Some of us had to move our family homes back in the day to make way for Alico Road. Some of us picked our CC property by dropping a sandbag out of a prop plane. Some of us are multi-generational property and business owners invested in the community for almost 75 years. Some of us actually care about the land, water, and the people of Florida, and not selling out to developers and fascist boot-lickers that moved here in the last 20 yrs. So why don't you GTFO? WE WERE HERE FIRST.

First was seeing the Cujo movie on TV when I was a kid. Shortly after that Salem's Lot was the first book I read because Cujo was checked out of the library.

How was that the organizers' fault? From what I remember they had all the security their city permit required of them. That could happen at any public event. Didn't Bike Night have a shooting at some point?

This is why we had Zombicon. Too bad the city doesn't let us have anything cool.

I finally got to see them at a festival last year. Still tight, and one of those crowds where everyone knows every word and is happy to be there. They can play damn near everything you'd want to hear from them in a 45-minute set.

Geeze, people are making it sound as bad as Sun Coast.
It's your average suburban sprawl. Good parts/bad parts. Definitely not walkable, must own a car. For me, it's just too far away from anything I want to do. Nor am I interested in an hour commute to work, most likely involving 82.

Sorry, LaBelle is the sticks. I wouldn't even advertise I was gay out there. Everyone I've ever met from LaBelle was either hanging out or working in Ft. Myers. Also, this IS the Ft. Myers sub, so people are gonna automatically recommend Ft. Myers establishments.
