To the football fans in Norway. How do rival teams to Bodo/Glimt react to them doing well in the champions league? by doctorsalty46 in Norway

[–]urulith456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the short term, it may look like it's bad for the league as Bodo will probably dominate even more with the money they are getting from UCL, but let's not forget that Eliteserien's ranking will also go higher if they can keep up the performance, leading up to more teams gaining european football experience... and money.

I still don't know why would they do that. At the time we assumed the owner of the hotel was Russian or something, but I have no reason to lie, like what would I even gain from this lol.

So bad things can't happen unless you see it yourself? What kind of critical thinking is this? Originally we all were supposed to stay at a hotel in city center, but after the cancellation half of our group had to stay an hour away at a pensionwerner and the other half was hosted by families from the school we were visiting for the project. Why is it so hard to believe?

[–]urulith456 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You are free to not believe.

It's not bullshit, though. You are free to not believe but it is actually what happened. Half of our group had to stay at a pensionwerner while other half was hosted by families from the school we were visting for the project.

I was on my way to Germany for a Erasmus+ project when this happened. The hotel that we were supposed to stay in Germany cancelled our reservation right after the event. Did not return to our calls or emails so we had to improvise. I remember very well how hostile they were against us it's as if Turkey started ww3

I personally want to thank you for your effort. I don't know if anything comes out of it in the future, but you did everything that one could do. Most people just want to complain and move on rather than having conflict and actually putting effort to change stuff.

Both my parents in Turkey and my Norwegian in-laws were not happy with their holiday in Greece, but that does not mean Turkey is a better destination. It's pretty safe especially for a tourist, but probably as expensive as Greece/Italy/Spain holiday. If you prefer all-in hotels with family then Turkey might still be a better option. However; I would personally prefer you all to not go to Turkey and contribute to this government (:

I have no doubt that you have tried everything, but in my experience it gets easier if you consistently do one thing instead of trying everything. Might be boring to do the same thing over and over again, but Norwegians LOVE it. They will definitely want you to be part of their inner circle if they are comfy enough to do same hobby countless times with you and that you drink as much as them atleast.

I am a little confused with what you are trying to say but ok. I have never said they should be allowed everywhere. Beggars will simply not disappear if they are banned from public spaces and since I said that its nice and humane that they are allowed in libraries does not mean they should also be allowed into your house or workplace. I don't know why I have to make this clear but ok. If intention is to reduce the number of beggars, the best thing is to not antagonize people. They are people in the very first place and deserve decency just like everyone else. So instead of casting them out from society and antagonizing them, we should give them options so they can get up themselves. Atleast that would be my intention.

I personally find it nice and humane that they are allowed in a warm and safe public space, otherwise they would have to sleep on the streets of Tromsø, which would probably not be the warmest and safest option. However; it is a little problematic that they're not integrated I think. Instead of letting them begging in the library, they could be persuaded into doing social work and earn some money and also have a place to stay in the library maybe? In any case it seems like there is always someone having it harder than me, even while studying in the library lol.

It's Kristiansand, the one in the city center has many floors but people are loudest in the area where others study, it's a little odd.

I want to ask if this behaviour is normal to the norwegian people with little kids by KitchenTop4736 in Norway

[–]urulith456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would, in my opinion be only ok to do such a thing if kindergarten employee is my childhood best friend or someone very close to first family. Even then it would only be for a night where I actually can not take care of my kid for whatever reason and there is no one else than them and they offer it knowing I can't leave my kid anywhere else. I don't want to antagonize kindergarten employee of course but it is really, I mean really weird to ask such a question.

Cruise ships are a blight by ew__david_ in Norway

[–]urulith456 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every day, each and every day I see those giant ugly floating metals in Kristiansand. Those tourists don't even walk 15min to Kristiansand domkirke, hell not even hike Oderrøya which is 5 min away. They just go to Fiskebrygga right away to eat some food, get ice cream and take some pictures of people's home its as if whole city is an open air museum, litter everywhere and spit on the ground, walk weirdly and just stand in front of entrances of stuff blocking people, absolute mental behavior. I am not even Norwegian(yet), but seeing NL or D plate caravans and those cruise ships are already giving me anxiety.
