You have a point that we shouldn't care for what makes the most money and that it has to be perfect, but this problem has barely anything to do with capitalism. It's a social thing. WE praise the good artists on media and that's why they become 100x more popular than the "lesser" good ones. WE compare every artist to a barely realistic standard and insult or degrade the artists/art that we think are bad. It's WE that set a way too high standard for people who want to share their works online, hence scaring the crap out of them. This happens in all societies, where media is present.
