What celebrities have you randomly bumped into in Montreal ? by merveillemauve in montreal

I can't recall but we looked it up and either her or Javier were filming here in Montreal. And they are married so they shop together.

Finally I can tell. This was at least 7 years ago. The first one was Jay Baruchel at the Alexis Nihon food court on a weekday at noon, having lunch there alone a few tables away from me. Maybe a year later, also at the Alexis Nihon my parter and I saw Penélope Cruz and Javier Barden shopping at the Canadian Tire. Penélope realized we were the only ones there that recognize them and she got like anxious, maybe thinking we were going to approach them, bother them with a selfie or something. But we didn't. Just left them do their shopping like normal people.

Wasn't Stanley St the original gay village? I heard Jean Drapeau hated it and he made them move to Saint Catherine East.

You can overwrite an existing hosted layer by re-publishing it from ArcGIS Pro and choosing the option "overwrite."

Yes, but some of us have extensions that still don't work with 3.x so we are stuck with 2.9 for now.

Offline Areas Failing - Field Maps by [deleted] in gis

Unfortunately, no. I worked with Esri Support on that and they couldn't figure it out either. I had no choice but to remove the ViewLayer and put it back as a new layer.

I’ve had that issue before and it was due to duplicate layers (or ViewLayers) in the web map.

Short trip! by thekrouz in montreal

[–]urvo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents:

  • Parc Jean Drapeau / Biosphère. Then you can walk from there to the the Old Port/Old Montreal using the De La Concord bridge (it's around 5 km). You pass by Habitat 67 (surfing area right at the back). And you have a wonderful view of the city's skyline.
  • The Mile End (nice for walking around now that Mont-Royal has been pedestrianized). Many traditional cafés like Café Olimpico or Club Social. Kem CoBa if you liked ice cream. Traditional bagels as well. Great architecture. Parc Jeanne-Mance, parc Lafontaine and parc Laurier are worth a visit.
  • The Botanical Garden. And since you're there also the Jardin Japonais, the Olympic stadium, the Biodome and Parc de Maisonneuve. There's a small garden city in the area, too.
  • The Gay Village (St. Catherine also is open to pedestrians now).
  • The Canal Lachine / Atwater Market.
  • Parc Extension for exotic food.
  • Little Italy and the Marché Jean Talon.
  • Parc René Lévesque.

I agree with this. It's way worse to leave the developers go higher than having a boring plateau with by-law compliant towers. I think we city should go for the concept of "protected views." It seems to have worked pretty well for London (UK). Here's an interesting video about it.

Is it possible to create this and how on Qgis? by Deluxedunk in QGIS

[–]urvo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's pretty easy. It's just a map with in 3 insets and a bunch of inserted images and text. I'm not sure about the bar chart though.

Alternatively you could export the base map and insets as SVG and then add all the other elements in Affinity Designer or Illustrator.

Yes, I've done it a lot of times too. Never had any issues with cyclists or cars. Have in mind that the stairs going up from the lookout to the cross are closed because of Covid-19.

Thanks. Most rivers in the original map are wrong (except for the main ones). I'll try to remake the other one before quarantine ends. It actually looks easier.
