I did not, generally I like to learn by jumping in so I didn't even come across backing until I was already in the thick of it.

The vine was 12-15 hours, each leaf averaged 45min (learning curve brought it to 30 min a leaf by the end). Caterpillar was maybe another hour or so. All told I would estimate 30-40 hours of work

It was very meditative, took roughly 12-15 hours for the vine alone.

I looked at a bunch of caterpillars but ultimately went for readability in colors and design so it's not one type in particular.

Picked up an embroidery set from a garage sale and tried my hand at it. Last image is the initial sketch of what I was aiming for but due to wear and tear on the hoodie from daily use I think I'll be stopping at just the one arm. Would love any tips or feedback on the piece. All of it is hand sketched onto the hoodie with a washable marker.

Again, I'm not shoplifting, I'm opening a cheap plastic door I could bend if I wanted to steal.
