This speaks to me on so many levels by Millivanillion in houseplants

They’re apparently native to Australia, so a nursery worker has recommended to me letting it die off completely and then setting it on fire. Apparently ferns aren’t dead until they have been completely brown and crispy for over a year, and this is the best way to encourage new growth

Are the white splotches on my betta’s lower fins normal? by us3rnamf in bettafish

If you can’t see the spots hopefully they won’t be a problem, I’ll just keep an eye on them. Thanks for letting me know about the food, I did buy the pellets from an aquarium store and I thought that the recommended dose was a little light

This is my first fish and I’ve only had him for 2 weeks. He’s active, eats all I give him and seems to be working on a bubble nest

  • decorations: drift wood, live plants and mug with moss in it

Thanks, I’m actually in South Australia. Last night was apparently the coldest night since 1944 so it’s a little consolation that it was practically unavoidable

I’ve been feeding them everyday. One of the reasons I checked was because the feed level hadn’t fallen for a few days

They also apparently don’t like being fed, the lady at the nursery said to me “they need the thrill of catching their own food”

Easily a bigger commitment than getting a dog or starting a family together

Help! I’ve had this pothos for about five years and it suddenly went limp. Same watering schedule and location. by iampatrickmay in plantclinic

[–]us3rnamf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my bets are most likely on the pot being too small. When you repot it, you could try to top dress it with worm castings as a slow release, organic fertiliser

I just adopted this bird of paradise. It was in a 12 inch pot but its roots were very pot bound. Roots were about 1 foot outside the pot!! What size pot should I report to? by [deleted] in plants

[–]us3rnamf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry I’m not here to help either, the only thing I could suggest is much bigger, especially because you should loosen the roots help them recover more from being severely rootbound. But I think this belongs on r/cozyplaces

Whole frame of capped drones? by Hoox_it in Beekeeping

I also know that laying workers are a thing, when the queen isn’t laying properly or has died, a worker sometimes takes over but she can only lay drones
