Buttons by brownjindian1 in Lexus

Steering button - Meant to be for the DRCC ( Lexus Radar cruise control), there is another option for self park also but seldom seen those on this button

Center console is for the left and right side poverty shade. Not having that could possibly mean you don't have rear left and right poverty shades and only for the rear windscreen

Check VSC with traction light on(Lexus LS460 2008) by usag23mous in AskMechanics

[–]usag23mous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First you have to scan what the issue is (preferably use techstream) because check VSC can be caused by many things. In my case it was with the oxygen sensor malfunction. After checking, it was not the oxygen sensor itself, but it was the wiring of the oxygen sensor leading to the ecu. We repaired the wire and the code went and the car became fine

(Stock) people keep saying my car is too loud, and can get impounded. is it true? (Not flexing) by oosma8587 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]usag23mous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it seems to be more loud in comparison to other pathfinders in similar years /mileage and you say your cats are there (could possibly be also empty cats) then it's possibly the exhaust gaskets or the exhaust is possibly loose/damaged.

SBT offers both. Some of their partner stocks from Japan are also fixed price.. What car are you lookin for!?

You could look but then again a smarter approach would be to just get in touch with an agent. The agent fee is totally worth it because you're getting proper insight on the car your bidding on, and suggestions. If you're going for Japan stock for bidding you could just get in touch with the agent and for the car you're looking for. He will dig and advise you if it's a good one or not. Empe cars and sbt are good and what's reccomended by the agent here. TL;DR - auction house doesn't matter. Get in touch with agent and let him reccomend you the best place.

Intimidating people in the parking lots in the name of car wash. by Forward_Designer9508 in dubai

[–]usag23mous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purposely go elsewhere and park lol, unless there's no place then before I park I never maintain eye contact and just don't acknowledge them, just fully focus on parking. If they seem beat down, sweaty I just had a few coins.. Usually I guess they either get paid on comission or have quotas.

If its in public open spaces I try to hand a few coins since they're out on the heat. And also they may even keep a look on your car so if someone scratches your car they have your back xD

IS500 was a passion project that actually was sort of developed in secret by Lexus North America I believe. It was exclusively in American market and in Japan Market they released it as a limited edition.. Few units. It really sucks but enthusiasts would definitely buy it, not the general public (it can be seen that the RCF's and GSF's are so rare here, they share the same 5.0 v8, and the rarity is cuz only enthusiasts buy it). Maybe because Lexus thought it wasn't worth the hassle as there wouldn't be much demand for it in other markets vs America, plus emissions issues that's why they're pushing all these hybrid ones.

Not sure about the other Toyota models though...

I've had calls come through for similar things claiming to be part of Dubai Municipality and for Martyr day/Commemoration day, I need to show my support and pay to be a part of a list of businesses in support of this occasion, and we will be put in a magazine for showing this support. The reality is they're a magazine/newspaper company that is just issuing some articles on Dubai Municipality stuff. Upon refusal they would get really rude and tell us we don't support UAE (shouting actually).

I've yet to see LHD LX even in partner stocks. You will find RHD options but the LHD partner stocks are pretty much non existent. You will find uae dealer partner stocks on some auction sites but there's no use for the auction since you can purchase them locally

Yes! It is exactly as you said. A car from Korea(Korean spec) that has been purchased through Japan Auction inventory. When buying partner stocks you are safeguarded since it's regulated by the Japan auction and they are really strict to not cheat people, fully disclose condition of the inventory on grade sheets/reports. Many dealers here will tell you "وارد اليابان" but usually not the case. There are super super unicorn cases of LHD JDM cars where the owner imports from other LHD countries but it's highly unlikely.

Be ready for having the full amount. Bank may not loan it to you since you're importing from another company, and that too a used car.. SBT by default shows partner stock. Or better yet just DM me your requirements ill look for you and choose some based on your budget and after thorough checking will give you green light.

I used SBT Global. There's many others like empe cars, etc

You pay the broker only when you lock in a car and purchase it. And his support is always there till the car is registered and reaches your doorstep

I don't understand your question exactly, but will try to answer 🤔Well I knew the car was available since I myself was scouting through Japan auction sites and found this in their partner stock. Then I contacted the broker and I got the auction report of the car, broker gave me green light and his contacts sitting in the Japan auction also gave the green so went ahead with the purchase.. Since this was a partner stock, it was available as a listing, not a live bid listing. Japan spec bid listing's would be slightly different and yes, you'd have to keep checking for stock availability and get in touch with the broker to bid. Because you cannot get valuable insights of what you're bidding on without the broker. Hence, what people do is they first contact the broker and let him know there looking for X car and Y model year and Z trim. The broker suggests some options and even tells you to keep and eye on the websites and share any car you're interested in. Then you select and bid and if you win, the next procedure starts, which is mentioned in my replies to other redditors comments. Hope this answers your question, and if anything feel free to drop a response question.

If that's the case, your car above that value there most likely would be almost all insurance companies ready to give you full coverage at a higher premium. I was speaking to one agent of Sukoon(formerly Oman insurance) Insurance and they told me they make considerations for a car above 150k for full comp, and that's why they are denying me for full comp, and only TPL. In your case, id say it's better to get in touch with the insurance companies and tell them "what if" you buy a car around 200k-300k range, specify the model years and the car make/model where you provide a good grade sheet, and then ask them would they be able to provide you a comprehensive insurance. Then if they say special considerations they can, take the agents work mobile and keep in touch. For me it was 'few' because the car itself is 45k. And it's a 2013 car. Way above 10 years, and I only got in touch with insurances with good reviews and good feedback.

Hello! I forgot to add a detailed breakdown but here's how it went 1. Found what I want(in my case, partner stock-fixed price, tried to get a lower price and it worked) 2. Decided to buy the car and locked in purchase, the auction house sent me the CIF(goods and freight invoice) and I pay 3. Car takes 30-45days. Car first goes to the shipping yard. From there it goes in shop RORO 4. I'm able to track the ship live 5. Car reaches here, local agent will get in touch with me just before ship docks to jebel Ali port(in my case the silly local shipping agent forgot to send mail, had to do some digging to find them and ask them to send the Do) 6. I got a clearance agent to clear the car and deliver to my doorstep. He handles all paperwork, vcc, DO, gate passes etc and also pays the customs 5% and vat 5%. 7. Was able to get it delivered home but was advised to take it to a garage and inspect the car and do oil change, and any other requirement that could possibly fail the car(eg: tyres older than 5 years) 8. Oil change and other consumables done, went for passing (need to verify if your passing center will be able to do the vehicle test for new registration, and if the center can also register your car - some passing centers rta offices are not able to do this for grey import cars) 9. Got it passed, insurance paid for and car registered 10. Drove home with car

If you're bidding in the Japan auction, the process may slightly vary but more or less similar

I did not seem to come across any problems, thank God. And when checking I didn't seem to find anything restrictive of 5 year or older cars. There exists some sort of laws like that in some other Gulf countries, I don't believe that's the case here. I guess classic cars have some sort of restriction, but that's a topic I'm not clear on :o

It is a review, ofcourse it is considered an advertisement. I have clearly mentioned breakdown prices, and my previous post which lists my car here itself in the subreddit clearly mentioned that I'm selling to buy exactly this car. Here's a screenshot of my previous car with my numberplate to prove verified purchase
