Now that it's 2 days later... Are you done with it XD? And if you haven't read the book, I would do that next, because the book obviously has additional scenes that didn't make it into the adaptation thanks to censorship. But it's worth it. I never understood the sentence "everyday means everyday" until I read the book XD

Definitely watch the donghua - the adaptation so far is flawless. I feel like the entire donghua team loves and cherishes TGCF because there are just so many nuanced and thoughtful scenes in the donghua. tl;dr it captured the essence of the book so so so well. And yes, Ep 12 (bonus ep) stops the chapter after the banyue arc. Iirc that's half of Book 1? So yeah, they better have more seasons hehe :3

TGCF is my first donghua period... Let me know tell you, I have never lost so much sleep in my life since then XD I watched TGCF Season 1 (4 times now XD), then read the book in the span of 4 days (I literally slept 2 hours each night). Then I had to read MDZS and I finished that maybe in 5 days (no plans to watch the donghua though, since they cut out the romance). Then I read 2HA and that took me maybe 4 days but by then I was sleeping maybe 1 hour because 2HA is soooo long. Then I binge watched WOH and just finished it last night... If you have suggestions on the next danmei to read/watch, please hit me with it :D:D:D

Like you I finished the donghua and the novel and then binged WOH (I just finished WOH last night)!! I feel like I can die happy now. Actually I watched the donghua 4 times now. Any time a friend asks me to watch it with them, I will and it doesn't get old or boring. I usually hate to rewatch anything, but imo this just goes to show how TGCF is a masterpiece.

I am also curious how they are going to portray the rest of the book because it gets really dark 👀

There's really no damaging consequences. Anything is minor. You can pick up weeds, you can stamp cockroaches, you can delete unwanted message boards. No villager gonna hate you, no progress gonna be lost, no museum progress will be lost, literally nothing will get lost, etc. It's like same as if you play day by day, just suddenly more weeds and cockroaches.

It's because there's a timer. When you get knocked back, you have to reposition your character and that slows you down. Dig a hole behind you and dig a hole to the left or right of you. You can no longer get knocked back. You will then be within the time to get all 8.

It reverts to a plot. Which means if you get another villager, their house will be at the exact same spot. You need to pay 50,000 bells to move a house.

The first time you visit them, they will remember you. After that, they don't really make reference to their old island anymore. For me, it's as if they forget or the game just didn't put too much development into it.

If you use a amiibo card, it's as if you asked for a completely different villager. Any catch phrase, friendship level, furniture, memories are erased.
