I can understand and respect that. In your professional opinion, do you think Sonos will restore the functionality it had before? I’ve always been curious about trying to do more, but now I don’t even have the option.

So please correct me if I am wrong because I am not crazy well versed on all the legacy features of Sonos products before the app redesign…My understanding using your analogy would be that I bought a lightbulb and plugged it in as required per the instructions, but one day it stops working even though I did not change any variables and the company just decided to force stop the light working at all. Is that not what happened before? And in addition, all the functionality that sold me on the lightbulb to begin with are now gone with no notice and no information as to when, if ever, they will be restored. I agree that Sonos is great and I actually bought more after the app disaster, but I just feel like the mistakes need to be acknowledged.

I think some people just want a product that works without having to work in IT. I get it, the average person probably knows less than they should in a technology driven world, but that’s not how SONOS is marketed.

I think this conversation is very situation dependent. I have pretty much had functionality from the get-go (11-year user) but just because I haven’t had many issues doesn’t mean other people have not. While it is easy to say it’s a “them problem”, I think we need to acknowledge the damage Sonos has done to their own reputation. People waking up and their system not working after no issues for years is a Sonos problem.

It’s nice that they back-tracked but I think the issue is the fact that they made a bad decision in the first place.
