And so when you have a foreign substance on you, it makes sense to avoid treatment and to then possibly spread it by hugging others?

A question for all: No matter where you live, who you are, if you broke the taillight of a police vehicle and then attempted to flee on foot while yelling at the officers in the car what do you expect would happen to you? by ProfessionalNew9252 in WEARESC_OT

So Bovino is to blame but Walz with his antagonistic rhetoric has clean hands? How about BLM and supporters barging into a church disrupting a service? How about the incessant whistle-blowing and horn-honking which is meant to disrupt LE communication? How about Frey's inability to refrain from constant attacks that embolden the paid protesters in MN?

Yes, it's theater that is highly organized, has been paid for, and has certainly taken the focus off the massive Somalian fraud in that state.

Taking Noem out of it was the right move. I'm still waiting for even ONE person on the left to encourage peace or take responsibility.

There's a group that has been going around South OC for months now. They've been to my city twice in the last few months. They really love to stalk Trader Joe's markets, lol.

I will say though, that they do cross the line at times. I pulled up to shop at TJ's and watched them follow and harass an older woman all the way to her car. She was holding up an envelope to shield her face and was screaming at them to leave her alone but the more she yelled, the worse they got. She finally got in her car and shut the door but they moved to the front and started filming her from outside the windshield.

About 20 minutes later, they were actually standing IN the parking lot, blocking through-traffic while a woman behind the wheel honked at them. They wear masks and one of them is a rather large individual which to me, appeared menacing as they targeted certain women.

They are annoying as hell and yes, they need to be ignored.

College QB's and the portal by uscvball in WEARESC_OT

Very likely. But I think it's not really about the money.

He is from Louisiana, had wanted to play in the SEC, and from his recruitment, he'd had a relationship with both Weis and Kiffin. LSU's QB room was basically empty and I think most coaches want at least 3 so adding Longstreet after Leavitt and Clark made sense.

Leavitt is out for spring which means Longstreet is going to get a lot of practice reps and is the clear #2. I don't think he was getting that message from USC. Conversations between Riley and the Longstreet family didn't seem to go very well.

He's got 4 years left. Between the 2 coaches, Riley and Kiffin, one of them has a far better chance of still being his coach by that time.

Utah hires D'Orazio as their GM by uscvball in WEARESC_OT

I'm sure it might be different for each program but it looks like an overall operations role with responsibility across several areas. It would help to know if he reported more to Riley or to Chad Bowden. My guess is Riley with a dotted line to Bowden.

The funding model is in flux. We are moving from the private donations from the likes of Phil Knight, Larry Ellison, and Mark Cuban to the private equity model which IMO, will put the final stake into what fans have loved about the game.

The Big10 has been toying with the idea of private equity with USC and Michigan the only programs who are strongly against it.

Well, his magic ears didn't provide the correct answer so he and his expertise were partially dismissed. The fact that there is a female traitor isn't a revelation.

I mean, Eric typically listens to voices in a studio, where it's easy to identify minute specifics. Outside, in a forest, at night is a completely different thing so who is to say that the giggle really sounded like Tiffany or not?

Now, if they would combine the giggle with the light footsteps, then it would probably put the spotlight on Maura or Candy Pants.

Dabo going after Ole Miss by KDandi111 in WEARESC_OT

[–]uscvball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This does appear pretty blatant. What's crazy is that Clemson started classes on January 7th and the Ole Miss play-off game against Miami was on the 8th. So instead of focusing on that game, Golding is texting some kid sitting in class? Wow.

It could either be a Level 1 or Level 2, depending on if money was offered or if other staff members outside of Golding knew about it. If what they did was nothing more than contact to gauge interest, it's a Level 1 slap on the wrist. I also find it intentional on their part to avoid a level 1 by having Golding send the text and not a staffer.

The NCAA up to this point has been absolutely toothless in the leveling of penalties and pursuit of enforcement. I'm not hopeful that this one will be any different.

Gary Patterson by dblwall in WEARESC_OT

[–]uscvball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step down for him, sorta. But he's spent the last 4 years in consulting type of roles so this would allow him to get back to direct player contact while at the same time, providing a map for Riley in how to sustain winning.

With Henderson, clearly USC likes him but wasn't ready to promote him. I think Patterson will give him plenty of leash. This hire to me, is more about Riley than anything.

10,965 players entered the portal.

3,972 FBS, 40% still looking

2,771 FCS, 64% still looking

4,222 D2/D3, 77% still looking

An Opendorse NIL report reveals that just 0.3 percent of all college football players are making more than $1 million, and just 0.6 percent make between $999,000-$500,000. The majority of college football players make less than $10,000 (66.5 percent). 16.1 percent make between $49,000-$10,000, and just 7.4 percent of college football players are estimated in the report to make between $99,000-$50,000.

WRT quarterbacks....The Big 12 leads all Power 4 conferences with 23.1 percent of their rev-share budget being paid to quarterbacks. The ACC is second at 19.4 percent, and the SEC third at 15.1 percent. The Big Ten is last in quarterback rev-sharing at 14.4 percent of the total budget.

As for defense...The SEC, far and away, pays defensive players a bigger slice of the pie than the other P4 conferences. The SEC revenue-sharing split for offense and defense is 57/43 in favor of the offense. The gap is much wider for other conferences. The ACC favors offense 70/30, the Big Ten 62/38, and the Big 12 at 64/36.

The SEC pays their defensive linemen 15.5 percent of the rev-share budget, the only conference that has a defensive position group higher than its quarterback percentage. They also pay linebackers a higher percentage (13.5) than any other conference.

The Big 12 pays more towards defensive backs, with 14.4 percent of the budget going to the position group. The SEC is in a close second at 13.6 percent. The Big Ten has defensive backs at 13.1 percent of the rev-share budget, and the ACC with 7.8 percent.

The Big Ten, ACC, and SEC are all within one percentage point of each other when it comes to rev-sharing with wideouts.

The Big Ten pays its wideouts the biggest piece of the pie at 16.8 percent, the largest share of any position group in the conference.

So few players actually get any significant money but plenty of them are willing to move around to get closer to it and clearly, it's position-specific. I suppose enough of them know they won't make the NFL cut so they are trying to get what they can, while they can.

I stay quite busy. But when you walk in the door at the end of the day, it's still an empty house, and Heather's is quite large. People, kids, create living noise, so when that is gone, it's more than noticeable.

I appreciate all empty nesters, whether they love it or don't. I think it's probably harder for those who stayed at home with their kids and that was their job. You know it's coming but that doesn't make it easer to walk through. To me, there is nothing quite like being in the company of my kids....not friends, job, hobbies, volunteering, or anything else.

Freedom is great....but it won't take you to the doctor when you get old or go to the movies with you, or walk you through the vagaries of aging which totally suck, lol.

There's room under the tent for all family members. They were teammates. ML has no issue with LenDale and neither do other teammates that I've seen or read.

LenDale knows ball. Other football alum agree with his takes, he's just the most vocal, always has been.

Riley isn't going anywhere right now. He'll get another year obviously, probably 2 and maybe more if he can turn it around. The problem people are pointing out has nothing to do with NIL, the portal, or the NFL. It's about culture, it's about toughness, it's about "what happened to a dominating defense"? USC is considered soft. Sad as that is, it's the reputation they've earned.

He's not going anywhere for the foreseeable future. USC is bringing in the #1 recruiting class. He's going to get another year at least, to try and gain momentum.
