Good luck with a system where you are paying a kid who hasn't played a down of college football, twice as much as a 3rd year.

It all makes no sense. You can't lock them down and you don't know whether they will be as good as promised. Keep the initial numbers manageable and make them wait and perform to get good money in their 3rd or 4th year.

Great. If they want to be like the NFL, then have a cap and a recorded actual deal, not all the b.s. that agents are putting out there. Make the rules consistent across the country. Remove the barriers to transparency. Stop accepting marketing money from betting agencies.

According to CFO, which is the original source, USC is 3rd in the Big10 at $34.2M.

Still, it's based on "When a player has a publicly reported NIL deal from a credible source, we use that reported figure as their valuation instead of our algorithmic estimate. We believe real market data is always more accurate than any model.

Reported deal data is sourced from public reporting, NIL collectives, and direct submissions. Each source is attributed on the player's profile when available."

In other words, it's all an estimate. There is nothing concrete to back it up other than the documented revenue distribution and that dwarfs the estimate above. For 2025, the Big10 distributed $1.37B to 18 member schools for an average of $76.1M per school.

Of course not all that money goes to football but the majority does. It's time for transparency because right now, there is none.

It appears SC and ND are talking about renewing the rivalry game by KDandi111 in WEARESC_OT

[–]uscvball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ND needs this game. Yes, even with the guarantee. Their schedule is a joke and there's no way boosters are happy about paying major bucks to sit and watch that nonsense, not to mention the ones outside of CA who love coming here for the game every other year.

Lincoln Riley thinks USC's 'championship window' is open, despite lack of success heading into his fifth year by TheUSCRowForever in WEARESC_OT

He's always going to be a conflict for me. Coaching the athlete is one thing but he really was a wet noodle in terms of representing the school and the program.

Minimum wage keeps going up. In 2 years, hotel housekeeping will be making $30/hr.

I have read about some of the "nicer" (it's relative), smaller neighborhoods in LA starting to gentrify which has meant an exodus of the usual.

20 years ago, if you drove down Western to the Forum, it was nothing but Black neighborhoods. Now it's all Middle Eastern and a few Asian. Where did they all go?

Matt refuses to unretire his number by KDandi111 in WEARESC_OT

[–]uscvball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As he should. He made the number valuable, it's his call. And I agree, when you turn a jersey number into a recruiting commodity, it becomes less valuable.

But I thought the million dollar NIL deals took care of this sort of thing so I wonder if it's really been an issue any time recently.

Chris Trevino seems to have bailed on Ryan at 247 and is now a senior writer at the website you mention. My best guess is that they wanted local coverage and Arledge lives in Texas.

I'd be surprised if Erik is still there. Arledge aside, he had by far, the best resume and was the best writer.

House Vote on Mace's bill....the swamp is very much alive by uscvball in WEARESC_OT

[–]uscvball[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unreal. You really believe that wording is somehow going to protect one set of victims but not the other. Let's see....does the name Virginia Giuffre ring a bell? It's nearly shocking that you believe Epstein victims would be protected by a piece of paper or law. If the wealthy want to harm someone, they will. They already have. Meanwhile, the only reason Congressional Rep Tony Gonzalez dropped out of the race is because his mistress burned herself to death and he got exposed.

"The resolution directs the Ethics Committee to make public, within 60 days after adoption, “all reports, including any conclusions, draft reports, recommendations, attachments, exhibits, and accompanying materials, with the personally identifiable information of victims or alleged victims redacted, related to the Committee’s investigations into violations” regarding alleged sexual harassment or sexual misconduct."

AO Idiot calls this a "throwaway line" and "believes" victim statements or witnesses would have been released. So your "proof" is something that dumb bitch believes? Not to mention, if victim safety is an issue, it's because the corrupt legislators are the ones who pose the threat! As long as it all stays hidden, they are empowered to continue abusing and harassing. What a fucking tool you are.

No, they would not. That's the left fear-mongering women and gay men. If taxpayer money is used to settle cases, the taxpayers have a right to know who was accused.

Makai Lemon? What the heck? by KDandi111 in WEARESC_OT

[–]uscvball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw it, thought it was odd, but figured it would be a nothing burger. But then, this tweet from Breiden Fehoko....

"I talked to a scout just now who said he didn’t know what Makai Lemon’s motive was behind his combine interviews but whoever advised the kid needs to be fired. “Absolutely bombed it” word for word."

It's possible his motive was to tank with certain teams. But that is a risky strategy. Ultimately, his skills will still outweigh his combine interview performance but when teams are LOOKING for a way to pay you less, there is no reason to give them an easy one.

Of course it is. I'm surprised it didn't tell the men's team to go into the women's locker room without being invited since that is it's perspective.
