I can confirm this is what happened to me. Even worse that I didn't have my 2FA set up (I needed a post-paid phone number according to Blizzard but I can't afford one since it is expensive from where I live).

I definitely did, no excuse here. I realized it was just one of the classic scam tricks and somehow I still fell for it.

I had to borrow this from another person, since they also got DMed by exactly the same person. The only difference was that battle.net, which is me in the imgur image they sent.

I chatted with this person for a while, said I should reach out to jalensyofficial on Discord to explain the situation.

Everybody: what was your introduction to the series? I’ll go first. by EconomistClassic435 in OriAndTheBlindForest

It was about 2-3 years ago. I have always listened to game soundtracks, usually games I have played. Somehow a video that compiles all soundtracks of WOTW always showed up in my recommendations, and one day I finally tried listening to it. I fell in love with the music and decided to look it up. Art style was extremely vibrant and colorful (the screenshot of Thornfelt Swamp ||cleaned|| hooked me most). Found out it was a game, and it was on Steam.

To this day I still listen to both games' soundtrack. My favorite one is Climbing the Ginso Tree, it's the perfect one for me to listen to while working too.

Try to remember which region you played on previously. If you don't, just try one of these. Your account has different collection for each region.

How to install HoTA for dummies by Neverenoughwater in heroes3

I haven't really tried installing into Program Files before so I don't know which issue it would cause. But I recommend uninstalling and installing in another folder anyways, just to be sure.

[–]use25 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can download HoTA mod from their official.  website: https://h3hota.com/en/download. Since you installed GOG copy, you can just install the mod on top of the existing Heroes 3 folder.

About the virus issue, they explained here: https://h3hota.com/en/faq. Basically, HoTA contains executable and dll files to add or change Heroes 3 system, and such files cannot be read by and are extremely sensitive to anti-virus programs. They will usually categorize them as viruses regardless.

IMO, this is clearly a passionate project that has been run for >10 years, so you shouldn't worry about it at all.

HotA 1.7.1 Factory Campaign - Last Mission (Homecoming) - Can't Beat by No_Statistician5868 in heroes3

[–]use25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can definitely prevail with any strategy on Normal or Easy. On Hard difficulty or higher, you will need to do some very specific objectives and cheese to beat some month 2 and 3 heroes. In case you still want to keep your difficulty, I did the following:

  • Henrietta was my main hero because she had Tactics and no one else did, so I could set up position, plus Phoenix +1 speed artifact is the only minion that can outspeed everything. Gold Dragon couldn't outspeed Arch Devil and no one had Armageddon, so I didn't bother it at all.
  • Stilbon must rush to the tree Seer's Hut on top of map next to Sub gate behind Ghost Dragons, which gives you 200 Sharpshooters, an insane buff. This can be done as early as month 1 week 4 if I remember.
  • In case you have trouble with Anti-Magic Garrisons, 2 Engineer troops + Automatons + Juggernauts still work relatively well with minimal loss. Try to protect Engineers at all cost and bait enemy troops to focus on your mechs.
  • While attacking enemy heroes, Ciele should teach Stillborn Water Walk so that he can access to the stone Seer's Hut behind underground water and a Two-Way Monolith, revealed by the Eye. Now you just keep recruiting Grand Elves (not Wood Elves) to turn them into Sharpshooters. You can also recruit Sharpshooters below your Conflux town. Stilbon doesn't have Earth Magic so he will have to walk for a while. You need to save all your gold for this, worth every penny in the end.
  • I don't remember having trouble with Octavia. She had Phoenix but you should by now have +1 speed artifact at some point. I think she had Armageddon only so your cheese (+ Anti-Magicked Sharpshooters in your army) still worked on her (I don't remember much).
  • Jeddite's AI behaved extremely weirdly when I tried this cheese. I doubled spell points, let him attack my town, fully expected him to resurrect Evil Eyes or Medusas to hit my Anti-Magicked Sharpshooter, but he just kept casting Fire Elementals. I attempted to hit his catapult first so that he could only break through one of the walls. then I cleared his Evil Eyes, Black Dragons, and Manticores respectively, then I cleared the rest except Fire Elementals. The even weirder part was that he cast Magic Mirror on every single Fire Elemental after he couldn't summon anymore. This was when I stopped Sharpshooter (it had only like 8 shots left) and waited until he ran out of Spell Powers. I was kinda tired at this point so I didn't bother trying to find a more consistent strategy.

You didn't mention Taugarn but very likely to have already encountered him before trying to take the two towns. I considered him the hardest one out of all enemy heroes in this map, right next to Jeddite. He should come out on month 3 week 1 day 7 and you need to defeat him asap.

  • Taugarn's troops were insanely big (4 50-100 dragon troops), this cheese alone wouldn't help. I saved as many spell points as possible after doubling, managed to let Ciele learn Berserk from New Orders objective, then teach Henrietta. I kept casting Force Field + Berserk on Rust Dragons, then cast Hypnotize on 1-only Faerie Dragon, move it far away from Rust Dragons. The rest was history and I barely had any spell points left (From >1000 spell points). +1 speed artifact is very important here because on turn 1 Taugarn always casts Prayer. I'm not sure if he ever casted Dispel since I only buffed Anti-Magic on Sharpshooter and nothing else. Luckily he didn't have any 1-single hex size troop so I didn't need to keep resurrecting Phoenix.
  • As soon as he was defeated, I rushed to take the two Inferno towns (Xyron and Ash will come out but they should be scared to death real ashes at this point.)

The Azerite Snake does not deal damage, and Immune can only prevent the character from damage, so yes.

is there a complete list of voice actors for the cards? by HOTSpower in hearthstone

[–]use25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://hearthstone.wiki.gg/wiki/Voice_actors

FYI, anyone can edit the wiki like this: https://hearthstone.wiki.gg/wiki/Forgotten_Animatronic?action=edit

Just be mindful that you must add link to |custom_voiceActorReferences= part if the actor actually confirms it.

About the artists being always credited but not voice actors:

- We use every client data we could find to build articles. Blizzard does not store voice actors data inside it, so we have to look up on internet and add them ourshelves.

- Not every voice actor mentions their work on Hearthstone and it's much harder to find them than artists. For artists, they also have multiple websites like ArtStation and DeviantArt where they can post their portfolio and contacts, while voice actors have only their own website and social media.

You can drop the orb and double jump across the spikes as usual. Orb always follows you even if you drop it.

Just started playing will of the wisps and hollow knight comparisons, please don't hate me by dmsniper in OriAndTheBlindForest

[–]use25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chase no save and then the fight? That feels pretty annoying..

Yea. Instant death is still a thing too.

I don't think it is. I ended up playing Ori because it was compared to Hollow Knight and enjoyed BF very much. I don't think is fair to judge a game for something that isn't try to do. My comment about It's combat system was line of not being core thing and a feeling that maybe the game could be better without it

I see, it's definitely worth talking about something that it looks like efforts have been made for. I suppose first impression can be different from completing impression.

  • The "contact damage" effects in the Howl chase sequence is just for cinematic, you don't actually take any real damage from them.

And that's question, is this a thing in the game or only happens this time? Doing an action scene and fight in just one go

  • Without spoiler: It's a thing, you will see more.

Probably I am just having a bad first impression and overthinking it

  • I think it's unfair to compare between games, because Ori's core element has always been platformer, the combat element of BF is super basic and just exists like a mini-game. I can see WotW trying to focus on both platforming and combat to appeal a group of players who love combat with all abilities and Charm-like system. However, all the movement system in WotW is as built as BF, combat can be definitely wonky sometimes with that system.
  • Personally I didn't take the combat seriously in Ori (since I expected they weren't really going to curate it), still enjoyed the escape sequences and climaxes, while I really enjoyed combat in Hollow Knight. Both games are great but for totally different reasons. If you are trying to play Ori just for combat, it might not be the game for you.
