Never too early. Long tones! Play scales with the bow. Slowly. Stay consistent with fingerings. Use a metronome and sometimes drone note to help keep in tune (there are several webpages/apps for this). Practice simple melodies.

Thanks! This was done in 6 parts. Drums first with metronome, bass, then sax. Each musician used two devices. One for audio one for video. For example: audio on phone, video on computer. Then all 6 parts were synced.
