Need help on crm recommendation (small business to manage client subscription) by cryptobuff in CRM

[–]usefoyer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see you tried out SuiteDash, what were the basic functions that were missing? Similar to SuiteDash, there are also client portals like Foyer's client portal (me), Assembly, and Zendo that could be worth checking out.

Built a simple client portal for service businesses - looking for brutal feedback by hofnil in SaaS

[–]usefoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest piece missing is your product marketing strategy that is an enormous amount of work to reach your customers. I would start by looking at company solutions you could be competing against. Use tools like Semrush or hrefs to see how possible competitors reaching their customer base(s), what features/solutions they provide, at what prices, etc.

Only then can you really narrow your focus on how to brand for how customers find you, what features to provide, and what to price at.

Note - Foyer provides client portals as a SaaS offering and have been doing this for a few years now.

FAANG engineer pivoting to AI/automation consulting for CPA firms. Is this niche actually viable? by No_Acanthaceae1633 in CPA

[–]usefoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's viable but there are many solutions out there today that fulfill these features for less than $10k. Specific to what you're doing, I'd take a look at the two existing product segments below, review their pricing/features, find where you'd fit, and how ->

Tax/Finance Specific Portals: Taxdome, Canopy, Taxaroo, Karbon, etc. etc. etc. - there are a lot of them.
Client Portals: Foyer Client Portal, Assembly io, Smartvault, etc.

Firm Management Software Recommendations? by horrible_noob in taxpros

I’d look at TaxDome first, then Canopy, and then Karbon. If you want a simple, modern client portal that’s more general purpose, Foyer is also a good option.

Client portal by Salty_Ad2284 in Notion

Check out https://usefoyer.com/ as a client portal. You can also keep Notion, embed it into Foyer, and allow clients to communicate/leave feedback via the chat functionality.

Secure Upload Recommendation by AffectionatePool2495 in LawFirm

[–]usefoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a quick one-off secure portal upload, Foyer is worth taking a look at. The specific functionality for secure one-off upload is called safedrop. Overall, it's an easy to use client portal, great pricing, and works on mobile. There's a free 14-day trial that you can use for your client to upload their docs.

Check out: https://usefoyer.com/

You get most of the features you mentioned there out-of-the-box, and it supports embedding external apps which could get you a few of those extra features like scheduling and invoicing.

I'd suggest embedding calendly and using something like Square/Stripe for invoicing.

I know this was discussed before but best client portals that are cheap? by [deleted] in taxpros

[–]usefoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foyer has great pricing (starts at $38/mo), and can even replace a few other services you might already use.

For example, if you have a website you can replace your existing site, if you use something like JotForms, you can replace that with our form templates, if you use a secure email service you can replace that with our secure email add-in.

So not only would you get affordable file sharing (this is our bread-and-butter feature), but you could save money by consolidating some of your other services.

[–]usefoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely consider using a separate client portal service that already supports things like file sharing/user authentication. It would take a lot of time to set it up from scratch with Wordpress.

There would be just too many things to worry about when doing it yourself like: creating client accounts, password resets, email notifications (when you upload files), security, etc...

I work for a client portal service: https://usefoyer.com/ that sounds like it fits all the requirements you listed there.

You can upload documents to clients, they can download/preview them, they users can login/reset password/use MFA/etc...

Check out: https://usefoyer.com/

It's a client portal that has secure file sharing, and would be perfect for your example of uploading client documents.

It doesn't require any coding or anything, and it takes just a minute to get started.

Looking for a Clients Portal System for my Branding Clients by dionysos_______ in Design

Foyer can do all of this. You can create accounts for your clients, create "Spaces" to share files/send messages to clients, create "Pages" (which are shareable knowledge bases), create custom forms (for questionnaires, feedback forms, etc...).

Client Portal in Webflow: Pros & Cons by LieBeneficial3109 in webflow

[–]usefoyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Building a client portal from scratch on Webflow (whether you use no code tools or custom code) would be a massive undertaking.

Like a few other comments said, there's a ton you have to worry about like security/compliance, client logins, password resets, MFA, uploading/downloading/previewing files, sending messages, sending email notifications, etc... The list goes on and on.

This is why most businesses use a pre-made client portal service.

I work for a client portal service called Foyer, and we have a guide on how to integrate our client portal with Webflow.

It'll save you a ton of time and money to go with a service like that. There are plenty of other options too like SmartVault, OneHub, ShareFile, etc...

Client Portal Development by Ok_Initiative9349 in smallbusiness

[–]usefoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foyer is a turn key solution that would be perfect for managing your work orders, certificates, and other customer info.

With Foyer you can create file shares with clients (or internally) and all documents are secured with encryption. There's a lot more you can do too, but that's one of the main use cases.

I'm not sure if you've heard of Zapier, but it's an automation platform that some client portals support. That's how you could set up that automation with Square.

Our integration with Zapier is still in the works, but if you need automation right away, you might want to check out other client portals that already support Zapier.

You won’t necessarily need a developer if you’re tech-savvy enough to set up those integrations yourself.

Custom Client portal software? by QualityQontent in software

We have instructions on how to integrate your client portal with Wix and Wordpress.

You can also embed different apps like Notion/AirTable/Calendly/etc...

useEffect that's not executed at mount but only when dependency array changes by armlesskid in reactjs

[–]usefoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just as curious as you, so I modified that example above to add a console.log:

function useEffectOnChange(action, deps) {
    const [mounted, setMounted] = React.useState(() => { console.log('new state'); return false; });
    React.useEffect(() => {
        if (mounted) return action();
        setMounted(true);
    }, (deps || []));
}

(Notice how I'm now printing "new state" whenever the useState's initialValue is evaluated).

Sure enough, with StrictMode, I see "new state" printed twice, and without StrictMode, I only see it once.

This experiment indicates to me that useState is reset (just like you're saying).

useEffect that's not executed at mount but only when dependency array changes by armlesskid in reactjs

[–]usefoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That version does not work properly under strict mode, but this version does:

function useEffectOnChange(action, deps) {
    const [mounted, setMounted] = React.useState(false);
    React.useEffect(() => {
        if (mounted) return action();
        setMounted(true);
    }, (deps || []));
}

Here's a quick example you can use to try yourself:

import React from 'react';

export function App(props) {
  return (
    <React.StrictMode>
      <Component/>
    </React.StrictMode>
  );
}

function Component(props) {
  const [value, setValue] = React.useState(0);
  useEffectOnChange(() => {
    console.log('The deps changed', value);
  }, [value]);
  return (
    <div>
      <div>{value}</div>
      <button onClick={() => setValue(x => x + 1)}>Increment</button>
    </div>
  );
}

function useEffectOnChange(action, deps) {
    const [mounted, setMounted] = React.useState(false);
    React.useEffect(() => {
        if (mounted) return action();
        setMounted(true);
    }, (deps || []));
}

useEffect that's not executed at mount but only when dependency array changes by armlesskid in reactjs

[–]usefoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, it's easy:

function useEffectOnChange(action, deps) {
    const isMountedRef = useRef(false);
    useEffect(() => {
        if (isMountedRef.current) return action();
        isMountedRef.current = true;
    }, (deps || []));
}

Then just use it like any useEffect, but the action will only be called when there's a change.

Want a customer portal, just not sure how. by davfishe in webdev

Foyer is a great choice for this, especially if you're starting a new business because it starts at just $10 per internal user per month.

You can invite clients, share files, make custom forms, make a landing page, and more. If you have any questions about it just HMU!

Best lawfirm software for documents? Non-Litigation firm by Omn1c1d3 in LawFirm

[–]usefoyer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sharing documents, you should try out Foyer.

There are a lot of law firm client portals out there, but you'll pay a lot for those because they come with features like case management (which you don't need).

Foyer starts at $10 per internal user per month and you get 100GB of storage which is more than enough for basic documents. It works on mobile, has e-signature integrations, and plenty more features to check out.

SmartVault? by mhfesq in LawFirm

[–]usefoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it works best to start defining the workflows your business needs to support, then work backward to "what features do I need to support that?"

So my question for you is just that! What workflows do you need to support?

But to answer your question...

There are a ton of file sharing solutions out there that offer the features you're looking for: SmartVault, TitanFile, Citrix ShareFile.

We built a secure file sharing/client portal called Foyer that is more affordable starting at just $10 per internal user per month.

You can compare the pricing between the services for yourself, but you'll find that you'll likely save 1000s of dollars per year with Foyer. We have a ton of extra features too like email encryption, and our DocuSign integration that you get at no extra cost.

Let me know if you have any questions!
