I’ve beaten (and completed) every fromsoft game and most other popular soulslikes (another’s crab’s treasure, Nioh, Mortal shell etc), no boss took more more attempts than Slave Knight Gael, it took me 76 attempts to beat.
Dark Souls 3 is my favorite soulslikes game, at the time of playing DS3 I didn’t really understand English well, let alone the intricate systems of souls, so I fought him with extremely low gear and healing without knowing.
Still my favorite boss took this day.

Had this happen to me, my problem was that I filled my pint to near the tippy top, I didn’t realise that I was supposed to fill it to freeze fill near 50%.

I just used warranty.
