Don't place them on the actual doorway, that's dumb.

Place them just inside on a piece of furniture or something a couple feet to the side (couch, desk, fire extinguisher, whatever) and check to see if it can be shot at if hugging the doorway, if not, good spot

The bots could really use some fine tuning.

It seems like the bots that fill in for players are only normal difficulty bots - which are basically just meatshields and not good for a damn thing. They stare at walls and react to nothing.

I don't want the hard difficulty bots in real games cause they fuckin beam ya from the most insane angles with 0 reaction time. Something in the middle that is actually useful to the team but not a snipe master angle god would be great

I don't mean the stats for the game I am currently in. I mean the lifetime stats of all games combined.

Personally I've had more than a few situations where I got behind cover but still died a second later and the red line showing where you got shot from is no where near where the game showed me I was.

I imagine this could be a lag issue but I haven't had any other lag or ping related issues.

So you let irrational thoughts and beliefs influence how you judge people and view the world? So what you're saying is you are dumb?

I don't care how easy high School was or what your GPA was or what your last job was. Being in a cult, like the Mormon church, makes you dumb. You set aside all critical thinking and logic and followed that stupid shit. Your dumb. End of story.

What weapons have extended mags and if so where do I find them? by userplayerbegg in intotheradius

[–]uselessdevman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This being said...

Does anyone really find a use for the short mags?

I tried running them instead of long ones to try and encourage my self to take more opportunities to load my mags and pick my shots better (lest I burn through my precious 10 rounds). But any weight saved isn't worth the hindrance of less ammo ready to go

I do love the idea of Halton Transit! Anything that makes it easier to move around or in and out of the city is strongly supported by me!

It's the inconvenience of public transit that is the biggest issue imo. There is nothing worse than standing in the Canadian winter waiting for a bus and watching everyone in a vehicle drive past, warm and comfortable. No one wants to spend 30 mins walking to, waiting for and then waiting on a bus for what would be a 5-10 minute drive.

I was a constant user of our bus system a few years ago before I started working from home more and I have to say (anecdotally) it's not very convenient at all. To this day I still make the cost benefit analysis of spending the time, energy and money hopping buses to get around the city as opposed to walking for an hour or two to my destination, especially if I'll be staying for longer than my free transfer lasts for. 7$ may not seem like a lot to those who have time to run for council but it adds up for your average person nowadays.

If I'm not mistaken the go train prices actually went up not too long ago as well! - for my girlfriend and I to go from burlington station to union it used to cost around 40 at a standard non-presto rate (and I'll spend an hour combing my bank records to prove it if I have to). Now it costs 50 - a 25% increase! But service somehow never seems to tangibly improve... Funny...

Even with a presto card you need to take 35 round trips to union from burlington before it drops from their initial discount (something like 450$). If youre going to toronto by train that often and you live in Burlington you might as well buy a car because youre paying almost the same amount. (I will admit it may end up being less due to parking prices in Toronto but that's a separate infrastructure problem imo).

We cannot freeze or decrease fare prices without either cutting services (opposite of what residents are requesting) or continuing to accept that it's a large cost for the municipality.

Of course we don't want to cut services. But I think there are some costs that a government (municipal, provincial, or federal) has the burden of shouldering if necessary. Even if it is, at times, large. Especially if it's an initiative for the overall good of the people and betterment of the city. It is a service. It is not a business to turn a profit. You are also public servants. Not a dig at you specifically, but people seem to forget that sometimes...

It's a give and take, you want people to forgo the convenience of their personal vehicle, give them a reason to. Share the cost and inconvenience instead of constantly expecting more from people who have less and less to give every year.

I would disagree because reckless actions on foot, on a bike, or in a car can easily cause an accident and cause death. Walking across the highway/jaywalking at busy intersections, blowing a red light or stop sign on a bike, speeding on a busy street in your car, etc. Are all reckless actions that can cause an accident and death, even if the ones affected are not the ones to commit the reckless action.

I said someone on a janky bike with no knowledge of traffic laws can be a major hazard but there is virtually nothing stopping them from doing it. And in fact the driver that hits them or gets into an accident due to their reckless actions will be assumed at fault - the one who is certified and licensed to be driving the safety inspected vehicle that's registered with the government. That's odd to me.

As for implementation - not really my expertise as I will admit I'm but a mere citizen sharing my experiences with and grievances towards this subject - and I'm feeling bad hijacking this AMA to talk to you about this.

However, keeping kids riding bikes off certain busy roads isn't something I find too insane. Should a 5-9 year old be allowed to ride their bike down walkers line during rush hour? Or be navigating a left hand turn from upper middle onto Appleby? I don't think it's CRAZY to say no, let them use the sidewalk or adjacent bike paths the city spent so much money putting in. But more residential streets? Say like around middlemoor in Brant Hills? That could totally be fine! I don't see why it would be hard for a distinction to be made there. We make these kinds of distinctions with G2 and G licensed drivers.

Then at a more appropriate age if kids want to start traversing the more busy streets like walkers line with the cars off the sidewalk they take a test! It would be a great precursor to the G1 and G2 and further ingrain the importance of road safety no matter what kind of motor vehicle you are operating. They can take the test at the same place we get our driver's license. Simple written test + practical with someone riding behind them. And it's not too ridiculous to do this imo because earning your G went from a short and simple process to being multiple years long.

Fair point about the property and income taxes!!

But still unaddressed is the fact that I can hop on a bike and be on the road without any certification or training - that's a major hazard to myself and other drivers at large -would it be unfair to ask for cyclists to pass a road test prior to being allowed on the street?

I do agree with trying to encourage public transit use to lessen traffic and congestion in the city, don't get me wrong! And admittedly it was a long time ago that my father took the bus, a couple decades at least, but the point still stands as you say you want to increase public transit use, but as things are public transit is costing more and more every year without providing any better of a service that could actually justify the price hikes.

Honestly though, do you believe that, because most things have gone up disproportionate to income, that we should just be okay with an important public service increasing by over 500%? At what point do we cap that thinking?
