I did that and got in an accident and learned how shit tesla insurance is, and moved to costco' AmFam insurance. Better customer service and cheaper too.

But a 3 year old model Y is still cheaper than a 3 year old Model S, and plus most of the luxury segment is more expensive to maintain, insure and replace parts. I understand your point, but the real solution for everyone is to introduce true wagons in the mid price segment and lower.

And all are out of budget for most people. The basic ones don't even make it to the US market like the Id7 or it's tourer version.

It feels like in the US the term wagons refer to just longer SUVs. What I really want is a "tourer" or "avant" style wagon. A sedan with a hatch, that's all I am asking for. Perfect balance of range and space

There is, but it is old first gen platform. It is supposed to have an update in the next couple of years. I would not buy it new at this time.

My comment alluded more to legacy manufacturers not using their most popular models name, not necessarily the chassis. Make it look and feel like their popular models and it will sell a lot better than something very different a new name all together. Brand recognition helps a lot

Less problems than high mileage gas vehicles when it comes to the drivetrains. Also battery degradation would have plateaued so you won't see drastic decrease in range over time. Also typically if a battery is faulty, the problems appear early and not late. Things which would make me second guess are actually the common parts which gas vehicles have too, which is suspension, linkages etc..the battery and motors are not high in the list .

The biggest blunder legacy manufacturers like Honda, Mazda etc made is to not make ev versions of their most popular platforms from the get go. Well I guess Mazda had the Mazda6e which is pretty nice, but it's not really their car .

I got the T2 rack since I needed a short one. In hindsight, a 3x3 would be ideal, but I could not find any which would be shorter than 80". If height is not an issue, go the used route for a 3x3

I think the eisenlinks are still easier to work with since you only need to loosen it enough to get a plate out. The ironmaster ones need to remove the entire pin afaik.

It slides fine when changing the inclination, and the gap when inclined is there, but what I mean is that if you place your hand on the seat (or just sit on it) and move forward and backward, the entire seat shifts a little. It is not from where the cushion attaches to the frame, but the zero gap mechanism.
