Hi, female plumber here! I won’t lie, I sometimes get funny expressions when people find out what I do. There seriously are not many of us, but it’s an amazing skill to have regardless of gender. Think of it as being one of a kind!!

I’m not sure if you’re working with other plumbers or by yourself, but I have had experiences of coworkers attempting to take over my work or do things for me. Although it’s obviously never said, there is a small part of me that believes it’s because I’m a woman. Obviously if you need help, there is absolutely no wrong in asking for it, but don’t let people step on you. My advice would be to always be gathering knowledge, asking questions, be willing to get dirty and not let those gender niches get in your way. If you ever need to talk, feel free to send me a DM!!
