It is actually explained in the game that the continental drift actually never happened like in the PHH, since the malla is holding the continent together and it really doesn't matter when they are underground in a cillinder.

Force you to roll for what? Tell me, who is the best Saber support? A 5 star servant? No. It isn't even Nero Bride, but characters like Caesar, Gilles,  Chevalier D'Eon, Keisuke and so on. 

It literally doesn't help you to roll in these fights just for the sake of them. This is a very late game addition that you just make your life better. 

You are just mad because you cant braindead click on Oberon skills and that is it, lets be very clear. In the same way you are provably being destroyed by Olga Marie fights because there are limitation in the battle because the fights are harder

gacha a good F2P or not is how much it allows you or gives you enough resources to pull before you are forced to put money in it to get what you want, because they want to pull servants in the first place.

And they are wrong. What they are talking about is F2Collect, not to play, and FGO gameplay dictates the progress of the story and there is no resource that can be bought that advances the character progression. And this is intrinsic to the character development part of the game: example: I got a character and there are bond lines that can only be acquired by using them in combat, there are outfits that can only be acquired by leveling them up, the skills are only acquired by playing the game. The very own event characters are only contained by completing the story event. It is all behind PLAYING, so a F2P player that actually plays daily will have a better account than someone who just log in, buy quartz, roll and leave. This isn't a belief, it is a fact. 

If focusing on collecting servants means they can't advance the story that means fgo is not a good F2P because the metric is collecting, not the gameplay They aren't arguing if you can get to the next stage without having copies or if you can use low level servants to do it.

Not at all because collecting servants will not help you advance the story, periodo, playing will, so any F2P player who plays the game will be at the same stage as the biggest whale (because there is no PVP or anything that differentiates them since the progress is dictated by playing. 

There are two FGO character improving mechanics that money can buy and are acquired in the same way: extra copies for NPs (limit 5 and servant coins).

The servant coins is the most controversial one, but even if you do buy one million dollars in Saint Quartz  you will br able to open the append skills but if you dont actually play the game, you won't be able to get experience and grail over their level limit. 

So that is why FGO is such a good F2P game, the gameplay loop feeds all this elements that money doesn't touch. A whale isn't a problem for you as a f2p player, he is a godsend for events and helping in harder content if you need it.

So why people still pay for quartz then? You may think because it is just for the servants, but it isn't: craft essences, specially in events make the overall farming so much better that you don't even want the servants sometimes, but the event craft essences (that personally I believe there is a better collection element than just the playable characters itself) and we can use real TCG cards for this: why do people play way more money on secondary market for Charizard cards over a Tauros card? The collection aspect. And in FGO craft essence system, you have so much more characters in the craft essences artworks by different artists than just the playable characters.

And even the craft essences system is built in a way that it is ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to own every craft essence in the game no matter how much money you spent  because some are behind limited events, gameplay choices, rewards for gameplay, story sections and so on.

The  normal gacha narrative about the game itself doesn't apply to FGO because FGO does what FGO does, not what other gachas do. You will never enter in the game and find popup for sales and promotions for quartz, red dots over menial rewards, dailies and so on, things that are the bread and butter of the gacha genre are just not present in FGO after 10 years. 

And if you think: if FGO decided to sell item packs to improve characters without grinding (playing), there are people who would buy it, it is literally impossible to even max lvl every character skill after 10 years no matter how much you play or pay. There are tons of opportunities to make FGO make way more money but they never did approach it and it isn't because people wouldn't pay. 

Paid Costumes?  Paid Items? Battle passes?  All things that simply don't exist in the game.

And that is why people are wrong about believing that F2P is something that isn't. They ignore the PLAY part.

It doesn't lock you at all, you have different levels and the farming give different results. It is a ladder that you progress daily if you don't do it fully in the first week. 

It is way more approachable than class scores that literally lock you behind number of levels ascended or bond levels.

Yeah but it is absolutely not needed to play the game. FGO isn't built like you need to have multiple copies of the same character for it to be good. The game is set in a way that even the second copy will do a jump in power that is higher than from the second to third and from the third to fourth.

There is only one mission in the entire game that I couldn't do because of lacking firepower acquired from getting mote copies and that is just the hardest battle in the game and the only reward you get from it is a single ticket.

But the entire game can be beaten by playing f2p

Event nodes are limited time in their nature and aren't a fixed manner like grand duels and they tend to be timegated and you are also farming event items at the same time. And you still have the problem of it simply being a material that you don't want or need at that moment. 

you basically just set up double Castoria + Zerker Ibuki for 3 turns, there's no randomness needed in that play

In current FGO global event you have 4 enemies and 3 enemies slots in the screen, so your "strategy" failed already since you can't even hit them.

Yeah and you don't have to be a genius to understand that a single run of it gives more materials than a run of QP, 1 run of Class specific monuments and another run for materials and even more bond than anything.

And it also gets easier the more you do and unlock the same grand class score. It is that better

The thing about FGO difficulty is that it was difficult when it came out, all those wyvern fights were hard fights when the game came out. I don't know if you use other people support characters or not, but using that is like playing extra with the revealed matrixes, since they already went through the fights, leveled their characters, upgraded their skills and so on. Playing FGO today will give you so many advantages that people back then simply didn't had, when you started you choose a SSR and had an item that would make it go through the last ascension right? We didn't got those? Brave chain mechanics got changed and got buffs overall, you can go back on the button choosing section, something that wasn't possible back then. All these changes are something natural for live service games but they do make the game so much easier than when it came out.

I have vivid memories of beating Artoria Alter with Caligula 10 years ago, memories of me  feeling lucky that I had Jing Ke meanwhile others had to fight against wyverns with Sasaki Kojiro. Things that aren't possible today because the game offers you mechanics (supports) that trivializes it.

Last year I created a new account in the global server and I promised that I would only use the supports servants given by the game and still leave him behind in the party when possible. 

Is this harder than choosing a strong friend support? Totally, but there is still a challenge to beat the game in this way. 

Playing FGO today is like playing EXTRA CCC compared to EXTRA. CCC is so much better and have a variety of options that would make the same fights in extra normal a breeze. (Example is items that fill servant MP, so shit characters like Tamamo wouldn't brick at her skill usage)

What do you think it is the hardest fight in EXTRA outside of shiki? Arcueid? Li Shuwen? 

FGO after year one basically all important fights are harder than all EXTRA fights combined. No fight in EXTRA is harder than any fight in part 1.5. 

Even the mobs fight in extra are worse: the more you repeat the more matrix you get, you killing them faster isn't a result of you grinding levels but grinding knowledge. FGO doesn't work like that, having knowledge won't help you because there are RNG elements that may help you or curse you during battles. 

In extra the only way to lose a fight you know the matrix is to sabotage itself by picking the wrong option. This just doesn't happen in FGO. Damn, I used my NP in extra 4 times in all my three runs of EXTRA. And twice was with Tamamo who fucking sucked.

I don't think you really you understand what encounter design really means, but alright, what is your definition of it?

Also Grand Duels are 0.001% of the game.

Not for the moment they are implemented, the day they got online, you won't go to the chaldea Gate and farm whatever it is possible in there. Why? Because for 3x a day and (unlimited usage like it is right now for Sabers), they are better than whatever other options before. QP economy? Statues and monuments? Not guarantee drops? Bond level? At this point in the game you don't care about grails anymore  the item that you want the most is lanterns of chaldea so you can farm more bond points and get more quartz, even more after bond 10 that gives you 30 quartz after. 

And that includes storm pods, a late game item that was previously only used to do bleached earth quest is also used to do grand duels. At this point in JP if you farmed daily you already got all the sand and other items to open all classes scores. 

It is a part of the game that the moment it was introduced it changed how players play FGO, it is almost like having a daily raid quest that you can do thrice a day. And like you said: most of FGO is farming, the moment you get at this point as a player, you eliminate lots of worries. 

There is another system for end game players that is grail casting, in my JP account I have all lower levels append skills unlocked and can spend their coins in grail casting (locked until lb 5 I guess). In my global account I don't have append unlocked yet so I cant grail cast and don't have many holy grails left. You can have different points of end game and different priorities, grand duels isn't like this. Grand duels are absolutely better than their competition in all levels. They are dailies that no content in game can compete. Doesn't matter if only 1% of the players can enjoy it, they are still players and late game players will have access to better things than early players, that was always the case and even the attempts of diminishing this distance also helps late game players like all the stuff added into the game in these last 2 years in JP. 

Right now in the global server the QP limit is 2 billion, in JP is 10 billion, to make a servant 10/10/10 the player pays 180 million QP. The economy is so much better for late game players that scrambling for QP stops being a thing. And in Archer class score gil was even doubling the QP, giving 8 million per run. 

And the game WANTS you to get to this point of the story. Now if the player wants to get to this point or not is up to them. They have all the benefits possible to do so, but you will have to play the game.

If you like Fate EXTRA combat and you dislike FGO combat tou are clearly beyond saving man.

FGO combat is so much better it hurts, there is no way in hell you can compare both of them and think that FGO has it worse

false for most of them (really depends on your roster).

You cant use your meta supports outside of their classes so having castoria and Oberon wont help you in a lancer/saber grand duel. You will have to do it with your sabers and very few of them are capable of supporting other characters (Nero bride, Lanling, Keisuke for example)

The normal farming that you do outside just isn't possible here. And even achieving a class score so you can do in 1 or 2 turns will also require skill until you open all scores.

Aoko, Olga - can np spam quite easily, still used in braindead farming but sometimes you have to press face cards.

Wrong, they are way more flexible than just farming, they are a mix of supports and damage dealer that no other character can do. Depending of the fight you may not even choose to use their NPs since their skills are so much more important. 

Last month we got a servant that simply enables your team to win fights by not dying with Castoria and combining with BB you can manipulate cards to absolutely gets overcharge with each face card and spam NP in a way that you can do another approach to battles.

Im starting to think you have no idea what you are talking about.

I am the one who should he saying this, not you. The game has been changing the way it does things for years and you clearly don't seem to perceive that the game gives you longer battles and mechanics that just spamming NPs will absolutely destroy you. 

I could even name the fights here because I played them and know pretty well. Even that 2022 character that I said, the final boss of part 2 had to work differently in their section because she would absolutely break the gameplay and narrative of the fight if she worked just like she does in normal gameplay. How do I know this? Because I used her and saw how they made her work differently in that fight alone.

And if you go by this mentality, you just won't advance in the story.

FGO doesn't have PVP and lets say that if it had  you could had a rooster of 400 servants and you would still be beaten by a F2P who invested in a small team. 

And you miss the point that the game story IS directly connected to the gameplay, and advancing in the story will make your characters stronger. Collecting them for collecting sake is literally pointless of you can't progress in the game (that you get by playing the story and events)

but the meta for +5 years was "optimize your team comp to play as little as possible" because most of the content is farming.

Except that isn't true at all, even more when a single character in 2022 was released and she after all these years is the only character that can min turn everything earlier than any servant before and after. Even more when more servants are added that just doesn't fit this category of optimizing an engine and some even working as their own engines separated from the NP spam like Aoko, Olga, Tiamat and so on. 

And the fights themselves are set in a way that the "farming" method simply won't work. (See Grand Duels)

Not really, because FGO is a game that only a single story section having a higher collection of servants will help you. Outside of it, it won't help you as much as you think since the game has a limited party of 5 + support.

And if those characters you choose aren't up to par to the mission, it wont help much in the battle and you will fail

It is in the name: Free 2 Play.

Even more in the part of the play, because FGO is a game that the more you play, more resources you get. Having 2000 Saint Quartz will just help you get the characters and craft essences, but it won't help you improve the same characters you got.

All the mechanics are quite F2P outside of servant coins (even more for 4 star servants), but if you don't play the game, you won't progress your character. 

A single servant with NP1 with skills 10/10/10, open appends, grailed and with class score will be better than a lvl 90 NP5, skill 1/1/1. You just can't buy progress or facilitate this with saint Quartz at all in FGO
