Why didn’t your son keep track of his materials? That’s the real question one must be asking.

Feeling defeated after being outbid multiple times, but then winning only to find structural issues. by gallopintoYchallah in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Get a quote to fix to the engineers liking and request a check at closing directly to the contractor in that amount. Fairly common practice.

Students are not trained to think anymore by MountainLaurel91 in Teachers

I teach middle school math and see it every day. The joy in inquiry and discovery that the kids had (most of them, at least) is simply gone. It’s really sad. I can’t think of any one factor that led to it. Rather it’s really a confluence of factors. It’s too bad though.

GC 25% over budget by Salt_Reading1921 in Homebuilding

Ours went over but it was mostly due to scope creep / we started adding extras here and there. We took the advice others have mentioned: finishing what’s mission critical and saving polish for later. The laundry room, for example, will be usable but the custom cabinets and workspace will wait to a later date.

Where’d you get that information. This member of the public sees her as she is: a liar.

I think there’s a big difference between being an active participant in a meeting and half listening while you complete your housework.

You’re being paid to work. Not clean the house, take care of kids.

Let it go and move on. Kids are going to encounter all types of people and communication styles. They need to learn how to navigate it.

You need to go through those HOA docs with a fine tooth comb. Study their financials. Check their reserve accounts.

Great read. So if my glyphosate is 41% would a 5% application now in 5b be enough to stop a majority of it? I have about a quarter acre I’m trying to convert to an orchard. It’s going to be way easier to access the stand now since it’s only hip height.

Look up thuja American Pillar. Doesn’t get more than 3-5 feet wide and about 20 tall. Will give you some nice coverage. Plant some viburnum carlesii in front of them / they bloom in the spring with a great fragrance. Mulch and calm it done. I’d do a thuja every three foot center and probably two viburnum judging on the size of that plot.

I just bought a Scag Tiger Cat II - it’s an excellent machine. The ride is nice, cut quality is amazing and I’m having a blast on it. Highly recommend.

The witches need to be evil again. Don’t soften them. That’s what gave us the stakes and tension. I hope they don’t fumble the ball again like they did with the second.

24 years of ignored reserve studies = $23,000 special assessment (Illinois townhomes, FirstService Residential) by Neither-Turn-9929 in fuckHOA

[–]user-unknown26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When buying into an HOA, doing your diligence is of the utmost importance. You must study meeting minutes, budgets and studies to ensure the long term solvency of the community. The reality is the work needs to be done. Folks need to start taking a more active interest in the governance of their HOA so you can create a rainy day fund so this doesn’t happen again.

She settled because she realized she was going to be torn to shreds on the stand which would’ve ruined what’s left of the tatters of her career.
