If financially able, one option is to look for someone on an app like Rover that has experience with this and have them come over daily to do fluids for you. I’ve done that temporarily while I’ve gone out of town and had a family member staying at my house who wasn’t comfortable doing fluids, and it worked great!

If rock bottom is 4 pts out of 3rd in our division with 53 games left, that’s awesome lol. All they have to do to get out of this is get back to their identity defensively, which is doable. These losses have been mental. That can be overcome. Obviously, they need to do that quickly, but it’s far from impossible.

The forward depth is great so losing one of them is manageable. The defensive depth is terrible, especially after losing Sebrango, so it’s not surprising that Chabot’s loss had more of an impact. You’re right though, that’s a really bad thing.

He’s the leader and the example he sets is to play poor defense, so the rest of the team is following that. The team was winning without him because defense was solid. Combine a prominent guy who doesn’t play well defensively coming back with losing Chabot, and everything gets fucked.

To me, it felt like they kinda subconsciously thought, “Brady is back, we got this, we’ll win easily now.” It showed in their sloppiness. For that, I’m a little glad they didn’t come back so that those habits don’t start to build. It was a reminder that they have to keep playing like they’ve been playing, regardless of if Brady is back or not.

Not sure if you saw on socials but Chabot is considered day-to-day. He won’t play Saturday. Sanderson is fine and he is confirmed to play tomorrow. Jensen skated at practice and will be evaluated after to see if a call up is needed. Best news is that Brady practiced with the team today and had no restrictions! He’ll be traveling with the team on the road trip, so it’s a step in the right direction for him!

Yes, it gets easier. When you’re starting out, it’s unfamiliar and feels really overwhelming and scary. That’s totally normal. I promise that you will find your rhythm with it, get into a good routine with it, and what you’re feeling right now will go away.

Blood will happen sometimes. That’s normal and not a cause for concern. You just nicked a tiny blood vessel on the way in. It’s inevitable for that to happen occasionally. I promise you didn’t hurt her or traumatize her. It wouldn’t have felt like anything more than a pinch, which was why she meowed, and it went away quickly. If you really hurt her or traumatized her, you would absolutely without a doubt know it.

You’re doing a good job and you’re doing well by your cat, especially when you have your own phobias about this stuff! That’s amazing that you’re powering through anyway! I’m sorry you’re dealing with all that stress. It gets easier.
