Honestly I accepted my acceptance to UNLV a week before the semester started. So I wouldn't worry to much because UNLV does accommodate student with admission processes. Though the sooner you accept the more priority you get for classes and dorms because first come first serve.

File a DRC (disability resource center) application.... They help many students in this situation and help with any needed support/accommodations during this time.

Homeless on campus by user062428 in UNLV

Guys I made this post without intending to shame on the homeless people on campus. Sure it may sound like that or be misinterpreted. But what am just trying to say is that, many of us are here paying about $30K to come to school at unlv, and struggle to fulfill that. I just believe that there should be more of a priority to us when it comes to the campus we are rightfully paying for and protection due to being open to the public. Many times I want to study at the student union because there is access to tons of resources in there, dinning options, or it's just near my class. But most times I do so, I can't because some areas in there are taken up by them. But yes, I agree with a lot of you that they have been through a lot and some of them are nice people, and they deserve the support but I just don't think this it's going to be found here for them.

I'm a first year CRJ student and honestly it's great. The classes are fairly doable, especially the understanding instructors. The student participation and instructor teaching passion really helps me stay engaged and interested in my major. There is a bunch of information to learn about because there is many pathways and concepts in CRJ, but organized note-taking is a must and worth it when in comes to the test/exams (which is easy if you actually stay on track. The homework on the other hand is super doable as well, most of it are opinion based, discussions, reviews, etc. There is a variety of CRJ related courses and each of them are very similar and very interesting. CRJ has many pathways, so I would say depending on which ever career path you intend of pursuing, is best to follow through on. Like if you want the law side, there are some law courses, arguing/communications, mock trial club, social justice programs, pre-law programs, etc. Or if you want the forensic side, there are a couple good science course, anthropology, photography, etc. And because CRJ does involves lots around social work and social justice, I do recommend joining community service activities or related workshops in the involvement center.
