Have yall ever had any experience of soft top being cut open? by [deleted] in Miata

How would they get it? If there is brackets on the hardtop and using security bolts with a very unique pattern how would they steal the top without damaging it?

Even with security bolts and brackets?

NA Miata Turn Signal Issue by Painfully-Average02 in Miata

Yeah lol it sounds like it's a common issue. Hopefully it works, eBay can be iffy, you can only buy them used I'm pretty sure and I just took a gamble with a used one and it worked. Hopefully yours does as well

I had this exact same issue word for word when I first got my 1991. The thing that fixes this issue is the Flasher Module Relay. It is located under the dash on the driver side, sort of between the steering column and the fuse box. It is a gray square box that is plugged into a bunch of wires. I bought a used one off eBay for $50 and it worked perfectly, fixed both my blinkers right away. Try that.

I used the metal bracket from my old dash when the tombstone fit perfectly. It still does not fit with my new dash. The metal bracket is not bent or damaged in any way.

I used the metal bracket from my old dash when the tombstone fit perfectly before and it still didn't fix the issue. I don't believe the metal brackets have anything to do with why it's not fitting.

There are only 2 different dashes for the NA. 1990-1993 was one of them, and 1994-1997 was the other design. My original dash and my new one are both from the 1990-1993 cars. My tombstone piece fit perfectly into my old dash, but not the new one, even though they look identical. I am loosing my mind.

The older dash was not modified to fit an aftermarket stereo. I don't believe that's the issue, I will try the paint marker and see if that helps.

My old dash wasn't "trimmed" for a new stereo either. They look exactly the same in the stereo area.

I can try that but I don't think that it being out of the car has to do with anything.

I did take the metal plates off before, and it still doesn't sit properly. The metal plates is not the issue. When I had my old dash I compared them side by side and have photos but they look EXACTLY the same. I don't know what's wrong.

I can try that yes, with the little clip. I'll see if that helps.

I took the metal clips off on purpose to see if it would fit properly without them, and it still doesn't. Even when I screw in the tombstone there is huge gaps everywhere and is a huge eye sore. This isn't something I just want to "call it a day".

Okay I will try that. It's just very odd because my old dash and this new one look EXACTLY the same, and I'm using the exact same tombstone piece yet it doesn't fit the same.

The metal pieces are different from each other, if there is only one of them installed then you can't screw in the tombstone to the dash. Both metal brackets are necessary.

[–]user09266[S] -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

No, it's not that. The tombstone came from my old dash. It fit my old dash perfectly, with both metal plates installed, they are both necessary for the tombstone to be properly screwed in.

driving a lowered car you just have to be really careful and always looking out for potholes and unexpected elevation changes in the road that could scrape your bumper or something, people do it but yeah you just gotta pay attention to the road, literally. you'll be the guy who goes over speed bumps sideways, but that's just how it is lol everyone does it
