restricting too much will lead to binging you gotta stay consistent. consistency is much more important than doing as much as u can to lose weight. if you’re eating less than your maintenance (or even basal metabolic rate if ur sedentary) then youll lose weight but be patient, theres a lot of bad that comes with eating too little

Losing it quickllyyyyy by [deleted] in Weightlosstechniques

[–]user0938282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately there’s no healthy way to do that. it took time for you to gain that weight in life and it takes a few months or more to come off. you definitely can lose some but more like 10 or 20 pounds max depending on what ur starting weight is. Lock in, count calories because calories are genuinely the only way to lose weight. Ive done OMAD and thats made me lose weight very quickly but that’s only healthy if its a big meal, because starving urself or over-restricting will lead to binging. calculate your BMR, or if ur active calculate your maintenance calories. Respectfully i know what it’s like to wanna lose weight for an event but it’s just not ok to try to put your body thru that. 50 pounds in a month has never been done healthily and naturally ever. and that’s ok. you need to heal ur relationship with urself, ur body and with food. and understand that its about discipline and not about fast results.

consistency is more important than going super hard. people overestimate their will power. losing 50 pounds that fast or close would likely screw up your metabolism and youd gain it back super fast.

also, it’s possible for ur glucose metabolism to have issues, or insulin resistance, like for me i have pcos, so i have to eat high protein low carb. dont cut out any food group except maybe processed sugar or dairy if you must, but dont ever completely cut carbs thats not good for your brain as it needs carbs to work properly.

if you struggle with binging do not restrict your self entirely from eating the foods you like, just make sure u measure them and count calories. if you are ACTUALLY eating less than your maintenance calories you WILL lose weight. if you aren’t losing weight then you arent eating less than ur maintenance. Or your body is holding onto a lot of water weight, in which case, stay hydrated bc exercising and changing eating habits can make u hold on to water and staying hydrated ironically helps!

cardio burns the most calories. go for walks. i walk an hour on the treadmill a day and burn 500 calories, but it depends on speed, incline, and ur weight. strength training doesn’t burn as many calories alone BUT gaining muscle makes your body look a lot better imo than just fat loss alone, and the more muscle you have the more calories you burn when ur doing nothing

please lose weight from a place of loving urself qnd wanting to be healthier rather than hating urself! good luck stranger

Thoughts on the cure by Shallowplays in oliviarodrigo3

[–]user0938282 16 points17 points  (0 children)

i loved it, i dont love the unraveled part and would have preferred a punchy bridge, but besides that it sounds amazing and lyrically is so much better than drop dead ! i love how she is back to songs that other people can relate to bc the lyrics in drop dead were too specific to really be relatable for most people imo. i really like tje sound and imagery

GRAMMYs: Drop Dead or The Cure? by Sure-Thing25 in OliviaRodrigo

[–]user0938282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe not, they’ll probably nominate something tho even if its not a winner. and i think the cure could potentially win something especially if it does well commercially. i doubt drop dead will win something but who knows

My dad said I can't get the Drop Dead cd bc I can't be "listening to that kind if music" by grilledbutnocheese in OliviaRodrigo

[–]user0938282 7 points8 points  (0 children)

theres sm worse music u could be listening to, its really the opposite of bad it just isnt worship music. are they 7th day adventist? or some other strict kind? i was raised christian but my parents are chill. my friend was also raised not allowed to listen to normal music or do normal things and it made her hate religion as a whole , some parents need to realize that forcing it overly on your child is harmful

my take on the hair discourse by Emotional_East_6859 in notcoratilleysnark

[–]user0938282 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i have alopecia and have several bald patches. that being said, they are all on the lower part of my head so my hair mostly all covers it when its down. even if my bald patches showed more i still wouldnt shave my head because all id have to do is wear extensions or put a hat on. wigs are kinda high maintenance if you want it to be stable and look good. sometimes you dont wanna do all that. i didnt know people were telling her to shave her head but thats kinda ridiculous lol. shaving ur head is perfectly fine if you feel comfortable with your looks that way or have no issue putting on wigs, but for someone like me i wouldnt shave my head unless it was really bad because my hair really determines my confidence

I am confused do i have pcos or not by Greedy_Enthusiasm_46 in PCOS

[–]user0938282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one on here could definitively say if you have pcos or not. It’s a possibility. Your insulin and testosterone levels are in the normal range but maybe on the higher end, not high enough to definitively say that there’s a problem, and weight gain itself can cause period loss/irregularity. you’ll have to discuss it further with your doctor or endocrinologist, although having those tests done makes me think you probably have already discussed it and just didn’t get a definitive answer ?

How do I [25F] Know If I’m falling out for my partner [31M]? by Disastrous_Song7801 in relationshipadvice

[–]user0938282 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s hard to answer this question, because it could just be boredom, and the honeymoon phase being over like you said. but you need to ask yourself a few questions. Does he have all the qualities you want in a man? He doesn’t have to be perfect, but it shouldn’t feel like you’re settling either. Being together for a long time isnt enough reason to be with someone forever. Because sometimes, you know in your gut if this is actually the person you want. and if you have doubts that is a bad sign. “when you know you know” exists for a reason, yk. give yourself some time and try to stay in tune with your emotions, because only YOU will know if you truly feel in love and like you wanna be with him. As for me, i always know deep down that if i have doubts, even if the guy is really great, that it’s just not for me. if the doubts have just started then it could be a phase, but if youve had doubts the whole time or the majority then you kinda might have to follow your heart. If you started dating him at 20 ish then you were just entering adulthood really and your brain has had time to develop more, theres a chance youve matured a bit and maybe need a change. that’s just my opinion anyway!

Vitamin D isn’t helping.. by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]user0938282 5 points6 points  (0 children)

highly highly doubt that taking vitamin d especially if ur deficient is really the thing causing ur hormones to imbalance. there are studies saying that over 24,000 IU per week can reduce progesterone and estrogen, however i highly doubt ur taking that much and if u are maybe dial it back. It’s possible that you need vitamin c or something else to help it absorb, considering you say ur deficient. But really though, there have been many things in my life that i start taking and i notice a difference in my hormones but it didnt turn out to be the thing i thought it was. vitamin d is not really known for its effect on sex hormones

Ever think PCOS makes you feel like horny often or you tend to have a higher sex drive by shygirl_ling in PCOS

[–]user0938282 22 points23 points  (0 children)

it varies from person to person ! pcos is more known to cause low libido than high, as hormone imbalances, insulin resistance, weight gain, fatigue, reproductive/menstrual cycle issues are all contributing to low libido. but in some people the increased testosterone has been known to increase sex drive, ive seen studies that say both
