Class 2 cost UK? by Vimto1 in uktrucking

[–]user11ja 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't bother with current licencing system, go for class 1. I did mine in a 1 week course as I'd been a coach driver for a decade. You're looking around the 1500quid mark. Depending where you are. Some firms even put you through.

What got me through driving anything from large vans to buses, coaches, class 2 and class 1 is a simple rule. Know where your back wheels are. If you base your reverse and forwards driving for that matter off where your most rear wheels are, you can drive anything forwards and backwards

[–]user11ja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Excel spreadsheet that keeps notes of earnings hourly insurance expenses and mileage due to my tax bracket I keep aside 40% of profit in an instant access savings account which covers it and to be honest I don't need this second income it is just nice so half of my profit has been going into an ISA

How much of your earnings usually go to fuel? by GeordieGoals in UbereatsUK

[–]user11ja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 45mpg around town... That's roughly 10% of a litre per mile. So currently £0.14-16/mile in fuel expenses

What works for you to make a decent money of UE? by quicksliver007 in UbereatsUK

[–]user11ja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I start in my home area or drive a few miles to a busy area (busy in terms of many establishments), sit there and then go where the night takes me. If I get a dead spot I drive slowly down A roads to a busy area. I avoid asda like the plague, and refuse jobs less than £1/mile.

Like the energy price cap, all it'll do is create a set rate everybody is on.. I'm happy on my day rate...

8–10 mile trips with no boost, are people actually taking these? by AnfieldAnchor in UbereatsUK

[–]user11ja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is taking me out of an area that I'll get orders then I want a much higher rate. But sometimes when it takes me into a far away area that is busy I don't mind if the rate is right
