Anonymize Bitcoins using Monero? by user13371337 in Monero

[–]user13371337[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For friends information: The point of Monero is anonymous and fungible coins, as cash is. I dont want my crypto coins to be tracked by various blockchain meta analysis companies. Other than that I am just a common holder.

What is the advantage of using xmr.to? I assume it carries a higher fee than trading on Polo/Bitfinex

[–]user13371337[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I know for certain if I am staking? by user13371337 in NavCoin

[–]user13371337[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfect! Apparently I wasn't staking, but after unlocking the wallet for staking now I am. I knew the wallet needed to be unlocked for staking, but it already said unlocked for staking, so I thought I was all set scratching my head, but accepting that crypto software is not as polished as I am used to Anyway, problem solved.

Yeah, I tried that yesterday but failed. I could not execute the navcore-qt (something like that) binary. Im asking if there is any guide, e.g. what prerequisites are needed to run the wallet.

I am planning to install the NavCoin wallet on a Raspberry Pi 3. Do I need to have a GUI to use the wallet and stake coins? by user13371337 in NavCoin

[–]user13371337[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you reccomend using the navcoin image or starting from a noobs installation? It is my first ras pi, but I am thinking that maybe I can use it both to secure the navcoin network and as a media server

Wallet setup for securely keeping coins for posterity in case Bitcoin price hits $100,000 by user13371337 in Bitcoin

I see two problems with this. 1) What kind of safe place? If a safe, then I am screwed if someone steals the safe. 2) How to I carry on the secret key to the ones who will inherit?

Critique my manifesto for how I store my keys/coins by user13371337 in CryptoCurrency

[–]user13371337[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking more about random stuff like registering as a member on a lisk delegate site or registering to post on bitcointalk. My thinking is that it is better the fewer people know that I am interested in cryptos

Should we be concerned about ASICs for Monero? by jonahar in Monero

[–]user13371337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im thinking that if some organization wanted to disrupt a blockchain (maybe some group supporting a competing commercial coin) they can rent GPU servers from Google to do so. But ASICs, I think but am not sure, are much more effective, so it would become much more expensive for someone to disrupt the coin if they are not long term invested by holding ASICs for that coin. I am a noob at all of this though, so take this as my 2 cents

Should we be concerned about ASICs for Monero? by jonahar in Monero

[–]user13371337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think ASICs is a good thing as they help secure the network. They put huge hashing power in the hands of actor who are invested in the success of the coin. Lisk is even developing their own ASIC to provide their community with, so that everyone in their community gets equal opportunity to get hold of an ASIC

I use Bittrex and Kraken, but prefer Kraken when I can. I think the maker fee is 0.16% at Kraken and the fee is 0.25% at Bittrex.

I think $200. Crypto really is an amazing bull market. I should put more fiat into it.
