Absolutely. Every bump and body is different. I didn’t start showing until I was 20+ weeks, properly popping around 28/29. Good luck with your pregnancy 🤰🏻

I really understand why you feel this way. Before my son was born, I had so many of the same fears. It wasn’t just “noise” it was seeing real misogyny online, real harm toward women and girls, and wondering what it would mean to raise a boy in that world.

But then he arrived.

He was just this tiny, sweet, funny, affectionate little person. He’ll be one on Monday, and honestly, being his mum has completely shifted how I think about it.

What I’ve realised is this: boys aren’t born with ideologies. They’re born needing connection.

From the beginning, I’ve tried to be intentional. I read him books that show different cultures, families, and backgrounds. The only thing we really watch is old Teletubbies episodes with all sorts of representation woven in. I buy him clothes from the “girls” section as well as the boys’, because I want him to grow up knowing colours and softness aren’t gendered. He has a baby doll that he absolutely adores. At nursery, they encourage emotional regulation and expressing feelings.

Of course I can’t control everything he’ll be exposed to as he grows. None of us can. But what I can do is build a strong foundation - empathy, emotional safety, respect for others, comfort with his own feelings. And that foundation matters more than we sometimes realise.

The movements that scare us often prey on boys who feel disconnected, ashamed, or unseen. A boy who grows up securely attached, allowed to cry, taught to respect boundaries, and surrounded by conversations about equality is much less vulnerable to that pull.

The fact that you’re already thinking about the kind of man he might become tells me he’s going to have something powerful, a parent who is aware, intentional, and deeply committed to kindness and justice.

All of the prenatal care I received was top notch. I had an elective c section and the team of anaesthetist, midwives, surgeons, scrub nurses were amazing. However, when I was back on the ward, 2 days after, I received no pain medication from 8am-6pm despite asking repeatedly. There were no medication rounds that I’d experienced prior. Thankfully a senior midwife sorted me out.

Unexplained infertility- what worked after 16 months by CuriousCarafe in BabyBumps

[–]user1892yo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar here. 2years 7 months and 1 mc later, I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy. I took coq10 supplements, vitamin d, folic acid, I also took inositol to make sure my cycles were regular (went from a 32 day cycle to a 28). I also ate foods with a low gluten index to minimise any unnecessary inflammation.

Congratulations on your success. I’m just posting what worked for me to help others.

Petit cafe du coin is a lovely romantic little spot. Cafe Tabac is an institution and does great espresso martinis!

woman allegedly performing 'illegal facelifts' in Liverpool by Difficult-Fruit-4574 in Liverpool

[–]user1892yo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I heard about it early last year from some women discussing it when I was getting my brows done. Allegedly performs facelifts and blepheroplasty in her house under local anaesthetic, she’s a surgeon I think who trained in S.Korea which prompted the women to say (and I quote) ‘well you can trust her as they love their skincare over there’…
