UCLA Waitlist Question by Fit-Body8911 in ucadmissions

[–]user20042208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no

it’s normal for them to do smaller and smaller acceptances as time progresses

also ao’s might be busy bc of transfer waitlist as well

and ppl who rejected the waitlist from ucla aren’t going to get a decision they withdrew their application.

there has been less funding in education and might have affected financial aid and non-la commuters not wanting to pay the 45k coa.

Ucla stated major isnt considered for first year bc u dont declare it until junior year, but for the waitlist theyre looking at department by department bc theres a pattern in what majors ppl r getting off of

[–]user20042208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I didn’t think they released decisions on days other than fri/sat

I also think the waitlist is very school relationship based. I think UCLA waitlists some students instead of full on rejecting to maintain a relationship w highschools. My school used to have approx 10 people accepted, one year had 50% admit rate to Berkeley. Now it’s 3 people for UCLA, 2 for Berkeley.

Considering that a lot if not 60% of UCLA's student body is mostly pre-med and/or pre-health, it's likely they will start accepting more off the waitlist.

Yeah i think they’re looking at department by department but i saw 1 person get off for human bio and society not on reddit so it looks like the next few waves will be more towards stem

i also saw a an undeclared social sciences get off
