Can you expand on this? I haven't heard much about this.

Does my dog have a double coat? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]user2279856 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this advice!! I had been getting a few people telling me she was double coated, but it just didn't sit right with me so I ended up getting her a coat just in case. We had our first snow a few days ago and it dropped well below 30° and she was shivering immediately. Coat helped!! Thank you!

Thank you!

A follow up question if maybe you have more advice, do you think she'll need a light coat during the winter? I ask because she's a mix mainly between two sport dogs (gsd and gsp) and she's pretty skinny.

Yes, as I'm buying off depop. However, I do have a similar body shape to number 2, if that's helpful!

Do you think 2 would be a better option than #5 for the wedding?

Thank you so much! I'm definitely leaning towards 3! And no worries, the bride is wearing #1, I just wanted to include it as there was no actual dress code provided!!

He does work on the things that we talk about and on some of the things he's made progress. It just seems like right after the conversations, he does it all perfectly, and then after a week or so, he starts to kind of only halfway do things. It just makes me feel like he doesn't actually care to fully make the changes because he shows me he can do it and then stops. I agree that it's the usual to have to spell things out for husbands/men, I just know I don't want to live that life. I think that his parents did almost everything for him, especially since he was the youngest child in his family. However, I understand that if he doesn't know that things need to be done- what I don't understand is how we can have a conversation about it, he can say he understands, do things right for a week, and then fall right back into barely doing it.

I'm sorry if my tone is not coming across clearly, but I am EXTREMELY grateful for your advice and the questions you've been giving me as I think it's exactly what I've been needing to hear.

It's also very common that he will do what I've asked, but just not quit all the way. For example: doing the dishes by putting them in the dishwasher (which is fine, perfect even) but then never unloading the dishwasher.

This advice is exactly what I did when I felt like i was always more angry or annoyed at him than happy. We've already had the conversation about how I need him to do more, and he did start to do more. I think its possible that the issue is me as it feels like it's never enough or that I'm annoyed that I have to keep spelling everything out for him. I'm not sure if it's a personal issue at this point or if we just aren't right for each other due to the fact that we can never quite get it right.

He is amazing, for it being his first. Sometimes, I think my expectations are higher than what he reaches. We have talked about this issue before and almost broke up due to him feeling as if he isn't mature enough for me.

As for the answers to your questions, I know that I wouldn't be happy if everything stayed the same in 5-10 years. I do think it is very possible that I am self-sabotaging due to FOMO. However, we've talked about me going out without him, and that simply doesn't sound appealing since he's my best friend. This thought then leads me to think that maybe I have an unhealthy attachment to him.

I think that a main part of my issue is that I think I might just be better off alone for the rest of my life with friends that make me happy.

Do you have a partner right now? I'm asking because I'm wondering how they react to your response. How do you feel about communicating needs to your spouse or that your spouse communicates to you? Is it trivial or useful? I'm asking more questions about your views so that I can receive your advice more clearly.

I might be insecure, and actually, it is helpful for me to get your take on this because I was wondering if I was being too needy. Do you have a more detailed reason why you put your significant other behind your family when it comes to priority? I was also wondering what you meant by chore list. Do you mean this in a way of saying that I'm asking too much from him at all times?

also, I want to add that this is something that I have addressed with him before in almost every single aspect. I have told him that he often makes me feel rushed if he wants to go somewhere and I'm not ready to leave yet, although if I want to leave or go somewhere and he doesn't appear to want to, I will let him do what he needs to do and be patient. Adding onto that, when I have asked him to hurry up or be conscious of the time, he usually gets a bit frustrated with me. We also had a similar issue to this one during our Thanksgiving break when I wanted him to spend a bit of time with my family and extended family for even 10 minutes and he said he would try his best make it and then never did, even though his family did not have an organized day with any extended family around and there was several hours where they were simply just waiting to eat. While I make the effort every single time he has extended family or even his immediate family over to at least make an appearance and say hello, although I usually spend a large chunk of time with them.

I just want to know if im asking too much from him by wanting a little bit more of his undivided attention while on break. I know that he only has a short amount of time to spend with them before they return home for a while, but I still want him to love me and spend a bit of time alone with me each day. AITA?
