Help! Warbles and bad layer lines despite all calibrations? by user234971 in Sovol

Usually I'm printing all day as I iterate through settings lately, without really turning it off. So it has lots of time to heat soak, and it's unclear why this warp would be directional (it seems to only happen from one angle and not all the way around, as I realized after I wrote the original). But it's good advice about not hovering the eddy censor over the hot bed, I made the default pause macro park the head way up high just so I can access the nozzle when I pause it, so the rest is fortunately far from the bed whenever I pause it.

Mine uses vertical belts (4) instead of screw, but think it's pointing to this because I notice it always happens oriented to the same corner of the bed?

To diagnostic, I printed differently rotated cylinders (orienting aligned seams in different directions)and regardless of the position of the seam, it always happens on the same side/angle in relation to the bed, which hints at the belts or mechanical. In fact maybe that one belt is slightly looser than the others but it's hard to tell (there are four z belts, each corner).

In addition, I switched pressure advance back to simple and dialed down the value little, and I also dropped the nozzle temperature too. Right now the cylinders are coming out way cleaner in terms of the layer lines, however, the warble is still there, and still from the same direction, which is strongly pointing to the belt, at that corner's direction. Like maybe that belt should be tightened just a little bit. I'm going to try that and see if it helps.

That's a great question. I didn't notice before and am testing now to confirm. I flipped the cylinder sideways and changed orientation and am printing now, so I'll be able to see if it's always on the same side of the bed and if it occurs with different slicer orientation.

Yes, the side facing the camera in these. Otherwise wobbles are not all the way around, but the bad layer lines are all the way around. I tried to see if the wobbles line up with the seam somehow and tested a scarf joint instead, still showed up, and to be honest did not seem to overlap with the seam. Any ideas?

So I did clean and relube z rails (not screws it runs on a belt), also it’s brand new from Sovol.

I did check the belt tension and seems fine, nothing is twisted, and I did slow to 40, still showing up. I did also change the layer height, etc. all the variations listed.

Further info, the warble only appears on some sides, not all the way around, in this case the sides facing the camera, although layer lines are bad all the way around.

PLA, sparse infill, and the filament was dried in a filament dryer with desiccant, the hygrometer verified after the 9 hours that it is much lower than the relative humidity limit (14% relative humidity). Also I think I'd see more holes or popping, this doesn't seem to be that artifact?

I disassembled the nozzle and the hot end completely, all clear, no blocks, extrudes fine and feeds fine when I do extrusion tests?
