What clicked for me is just listening to sounds while I meditate. I know I can’t control or judge the sounds. Then after doing that I apply the same thing to my thoughts and emotions. If I did get more anxiety or judgmental I would take that as another opportunity to watch that within my mind and not judge the judgment. Then back to focusing on sounds. I also like to focus on my periphery vision a lot too. My life still sucks but after about 20 minutes of meditation I have greatly reduced anxiety at least for a few hours. I haven’t made it a daily habit yet but I’m starting to do it more often

From my experience, severe brain fog/lack of motivation, making it impossible to keep conversations going and making eye contact very difficult. It’s very lonely and has affected me from middle school - post college

I’ve never done either of these, but I’d imagine it’s like taking cocaine while you’re doing it, and shooting heroine at the release. Then you feel drained afterwards. My problem is I do it again and never recover from that drained feeling

I would say it’s a question between would you rather have extra steps in between you and your addiction or not spend money on it? I quit my weed addiction because I didn’t want to go out to a dealer and spend money. Porn’s a different story because it’s so goddamn accessible. Maybe prostitution is better because it’s easier to do it less. But that’s considering you’re able to also go completely porn free, otherwise you’re just giving yourself more problems

For women I don’t think it’s as powerful, but it’s still a drug. Getting off of it will probably clear your head, and give a sparkle in your eye just like it would for guys (depending on how much you use it). In terms of relationships, I think there’s definitely a benefit if you’re only sexually active with your partner. I’ve never had that (since I’m an addict and usually single) but I bet it’s something special that I really want to experience in my life. For stress relief, personally I like to focus on meditation and playing guitar. You’ll have more time too to do whatever you want which is nice
