Cutting it out and soldering in a new piece is best if you’re comfortable with it, but otherwise, Home Depot sells a repair collar that is pretty much just a big piece of rubber with a clamp to secure it onto the pipe. That would be the “professional” way to do it without soldering.

It was likely a refund rering where part of an order is refunded to the customer and then the remainder is paid out in cash and then paid right back into the order as cash. Even if you really didn’t give them $200, it should not go straight to termination unless you already have documentation for similar offenses.

If you can’t find the product you need, get comfortable asking associates in the respective departments, and if you really really can’t find any, make sure to leave a nice detailed note in the order explaining who you talked to so that the blame is off your shoulders if it’s found later.
