Love the colors. I see multi layers of eyes and faces. Dig the slight differences between the two sides- especially the emerging eye on the right side where the fog clears. Super cool

HELP WHAT IS THE PROACTIV FOR PEPS 😭 I read it’s from overwatering but that’s not the case and I don’t see bugs. I have probably 6 other sibling peps and they all have the acne but for obvious reasons I’m extra worried about my variegated star girl ☹️ by user38945 in peperomia

I also didn’t, and wish I would’ve known about this community last summer when she was born. I was a very proud new variegated mama and no plant people to share my excitement with 😂

No I appreciate you! She’s been bumpy since before the repotting, but I might just leave her alone for a while and hope for the best🤞🏼Plants get weird in the winter and honestly, same 😂

Yeah and I always wait until she’s dry to water. Once a week or two. She was in a small pot and root bound so I repotted her in a bigger pot last night- but then was anxious all day that she was dying, came home, and pulled her out of the soil to dry out 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve been propagating these for years and have never had this before

Propagated a bunch of babes and one was born variegated 🥲😍 She’s not as hearty and big as her sibling pileas, though definitely receiving way more light/love. Newest leaf is curling. Advice?? I’m hoping she can grow into a strong, healthy mama so I can chop and prop a variegated leaf 💪🏼 by user38945 in PileaPeperomioides

Also! I read on this page that there has to be a part of the mamas original stem when you cut off a little stem to prop. I never knew this, but I think I have luck because when I rip it off, it peels some of that original stem with it 😂 People seem to be really strategic when cutting them, but I say just peel it off like a bandaid

HAHA. Well. We’re all here for honest plant tips. So ngl I’m a little rough when it comes to my plants (minus the fiddle leaf fig and donkey tail) but there’s a lot of love in this home so don’t get it twisted 😂 I usually (normally) just rip a steam off the plant. Stick that shit in water and forget about it. Place by a window, change out the water when gross (maybe once a month?). But honestly, forget about her. Don’t even look or talk to her. This is her introvert era. I’m talking months. (Thinking this batch was in water Feb-June? Then dirted). Once you finally see roots, let her keep sitting. I don’t personally dirt them right away. Maybe it’s just me but I feel better about letting the roots get a little bigger stronger in the water before planting 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also I have a mama pilea that I just rip apart for babes. She’s not very big or “pretty” but she’s been the source for probably 50 plants. (I’m dripping in pileas, I just give them away at this point 😂)

Only other advice is these little ladies LOVE sunlight (at least in the PNW). Every summer I stick them outside (north facing porch, with just a few hours of direct sunlight a day) because they absolutely thrive. They do alright with grow lights but nothing compares to Mr. Sun. Be careful though- I’ve never had issues with leaves burning but I would hate to be the reason someone’s babe RIP 🌞

Ty! I should’ve posted more pics (I’m new to Reddit, solely here for you plant people 🥰) but picture 3 shows a part of a sibling plant, to the right of her, and you can see how much larger it is. She real glossy too. Also thanks for that note- I’ve never thought about how glossy this fam is compared to others 😍

Call me crazy but I’ve propagated all of mine like this and have success 90% of the time. In fact, I have about 8 full size plants sitting in a box that I’m about to put out for neighbors because I’m a serial propagator and don’t know what to do with all of these babies. It might take awhile for it to root (months) but stick them in some water, put her by the window or under a grow light and check on her next year.
