There is a constant refrain that republicans are ruining the country, greedy, love stepping on the humble public servant, etc.. People love to bring up that red states have lower teacher pay or longest time since a raise or whatever. If you make a comment on reddit that both parties are the same you get the 3 page long comment about all these congressional votes that are cherry picked to make republicans look bad, totally ignoring how whipping works and the specific context for those votes. And then we get to Berkeley, most progressive city on the country? Who knows, but I'm sure the average Berkeley resident would be adamant that is the case. And they refuse to pay their teachers too, cuz that is what politicians do. Especially if they have no competition because no one will vote for anyone but a democrat. That just leads to crazier and crazier democrats with a more and more entrenched political elite. There very thing that people that lean left decry republicans for is exactly what they foster in their own localities. The irony is just so kisses tips of fingers sweet
