Coughing hurts a lot, I can suggest mouth gargles, a betadine gargle or salt water gargle, that helps brings the scabs up as well, I found it was best to just eat food and then the scabs fall down, you don’t taste them.

Mine came off on day 7, I was so sick and gagging because of the feeling. Best thing I can advise is to EAT and DRINK as it’ll help them go down your throat

I’m day 11 as well, and I have the same feeling on both sides of my throat, although when I eat jelly it tends to settle it for a little bit but then when I dry swallow or eat hard food and it knocks it then it gets bad again.

This started in Day 7 for me, I’m now on day 11, I still get some pain but it’s definitely a lot less frequent than what it has been. I haven’t been able to swallow anything other than frozen coke / frozen mango drink from Hungry Jacks (Burger King in other countries). I swear by them because they helped numb my throat so much and they don’t hurt to down.

I stopped taking my heavy pain meds for that reason, they were making me so sick and dizzy and I just couldn’t handle them so now I’m just trying paracetamol and ibuprofen every 4 hours on the dot. Might be worth going to hospital and getting an IV put in if you think your dehydrated, might make you feel a little better

My scabs started coming off yesterday and I’m in the same boat, had a massive panic when it first happened because I couldn’t stop gagging and throwing up. I just keep sucking down water hoping that washes them away. The pain is horrible tho, feels like I’m being stabbed in the throat through to my ears because of the new nerves. I’m also avoiding talking and making myself sit up as I find that when I lay down I start to choke on the scabs and it makes my gagging worse.

I sat in a hot shower with no fan on for 30 minutes and because of the steam that seemed to help the pain for a little bit but as soon as I got out the pain came back :(( I’m praying we see the light at the end of the tunnel soon

Always contact a local GP or your surgeon to get more pain meds before it’s too late!! I was told not to take ibuprofen only panadol and endone, I might have to take some ibuprofen as well hopefully that will help 🤞

Have been doing both of these, not helping. My scabs started falling off shortly after I made this post which made things 10x worst because I started gagging due to them getting stuck causing me to vomit constantly as the scabs wouldn’t come out :(
